Wow - ambience, food and service. We appreciated the service of our waiter/server, Andrew. We all had the Sunday/Monday prix fixe. Le Virtu has an outside seating area too. We loved the interior besides the great food and service.

This is my 2nd visit. I remember enjoying the food & service the 1st time. This time the air conditioning was at best functioning poorly. We started off with Dan Dan noodles that on the menu had a 'heat' rating of 6 on a scale of 1-10. After my 1st bite I needed to call the Fire Dept. I mentioned this to our waiter & he replied that the 'heat' rating is incorrect; as it should be a "9." The test was great but I couldn't handle the 'heat.' Next we ate our shrimp dish with garlic sauce. It was rated a 6. The taste was very good. Our last dish was chicken rated a 3. It was on the bland side. Service was friendly but inattentive. We won't return until at least Sept. when the weather temp. cools off.

The food was quite decent. Very strong emphasis on the Asian cuisine. Not like many other restaurants of the experimental modern dining, where Japanese, Korean or Chinese influences are blended in the other cuisines, such as, for example, Serpico's Alma Mater, Momofuku, but more like limited to the pan-Asian cuisine. Let's put it this way, with the exception of our desserts, every dish (out of 6) we ordered could be undoubtedly labeled as belonging to the Asian food. Nothing wrong about it, but something not what we expected, not another Asian Fusion restaurant. But, to be fair, the Chef deserves at least 4 stars for his daring and experimental approach. Our low rating is based on completely outrageous service and the way Serpico handled it. The menu is "sectioned" in 3 different columns, going from smaller and lighter dishes to the bigger and "heavier" ones. After the first courses were served, our server brought us a spoon to share one of the 2nd courses, an egg custard. What arrived next were our 3rd and final courses! We were totally baffled, but theorized that maybe the chef voluntarily changed the serving order. So we inquired as to what happened. The server got completely confused mumbling something about the wrongly labeled tabs, even though he was the one who brought us utensils, 5 minutes earlier, to share the 2nd courses. Well, all right, even though that never happened to us before, in neither restaurant in neither country on neither continent, how Serpico handled it? What was done to smoothen their mistake? Free desserts? Taking the cost of the 2nd courses off the tab? Absolutely nothing. The server avoided any eye contact with us and sent another waiter to take over. Overall, the service was so poor, on par with TGIF or any other chain eatery. To our every choice, the server kept adding, "My personal favorite", the approach that was long proved as totally unacceptable. We don't care what he or she favors. We don't view - with all due respect - our servers as the biggest authorities in the gastronomy. Overall, very disappointing experience. Even more disappointing after so many good things we have heard from the people who used to work with Chef Peter in Momofuku.

Sampan is an oasis of contemporary Asian small plates located in the heart of Center City, Philadelphia's hot Midtown Village neighborhood. A dramatic back-lit wall mural sets the scene for artful food, emerging from the restaurant's centrally located ope
We had a great time the first time here with the tasting menu.....soooo, we decided to do it once again. We made our reservation and were awaiting the same dining experience as the first time.....NOPE....didn't happen. It seems that even if you have a reservation that doesn't count. They tried to wedge us in a banquette that didn't hve the room to get our butts into the space. When we suggested that there were several table available with breathing room they said those were for reservations. When we said we had a reservation it fell on deaf ears....Not caring for the attitude we left without dinner. Sooo, be prepared to either be squeezed into a table or come with several couples because that seems to be the only way you can sit comfortably like we did the first time here, but we won't be going back.

We enjoyed our dinner here. You are given a delicious tapanade to eat with their bread. The pasta is all home made and the dinners were excellent. I had shrimp/crab with linguine and a light tomato sauce and my husband had a huge serving of chicken parm. Our server was very nice and the service was quick and good.We are glad that you enjoyed your dinner . Thank you for the kind words! Spasso team

I eat ramen whenever I can and am picky. I know good ramen from ramen great is nothing more than instant noodle trying to be disguised as ramen. The miso ramen was delicious. I didnât want it to end. The portion size was perfect with the exact combination of broth, noodle, vegetables, and of course pork. The steamed gyoza was also very good. I wouldnât say it was the best I had ever had but they were good. The staff was friendly and efficient. If you are looking for great Ramen in Chinatown this is the place to visit.

Mid afternoon lunch, greeting by two very nice young ladies both smiling and professional. Tables occupied but not a waiting line seated right away. Waiter was happy and helpful. We had a Dim Sum Sampler and Bento lunch choice of three differnt items. All the food was served eye appeal and was just as good when we ate it. Nice atmosphere while dining, however would reccomend they take down the food stained white curtains and wash them or replace them every so often, toooo many stains for my liking. Would I go back for the food yes

Three of us recently had dinner here on a Saturday night. Reservations were made online and we were eagerly anticipating this meal, being Morimoto fans and having read so many positive reviews of this restaurant. It did not disappoint! We were promptly seated at our reservation time by a friendly hostess and appreciated the interesting decor with the ever changing colors and sense of waves with the architecture. As appetizers we chose the wagyu dumplings and whitefish carpaccio, both were amazing. Two of us had the duck entree and the other had the black cod. Again these were two of the better preparations of these items that we've ever had. Desserts were all on the money with the tea cake being a standout. We also had a few cocktails and those maintained the overall high quality.Service was exceptional throughout the meal.Go here, spend some money and have a fantastic memorable dinner! One tip, keep your eyes open as it's kind of hard to notice the restaurant from the street.

We made the trek across the Walt Whitman Bridge to Collingswood to try out this great little spot. When you walked in it almost feels like youâre in somebodyâs club basement, but the energy is absolutely fantastic. Our server was wonderful, friendly, funny, and professional. The food was without exception fresh and delicious. I recommend any of the sushi, but donât miss the Friday oysters or steamed clams. BYOB is an added bonus. This was just a fantastic experience all around
