Chen's has good food. I've eaten at the restaurant and have taken out. Their staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable and food is good. I like their chicken and cashews and their General Tso's most.

On this particular visit on a Saturday evening, the place was packed: quick service albeit a bit indifferent(the lady-owner was pleasant and tried to answer your questions, the gentleman-owner[??] not as welcoming, a little smile would surely help!!), the menu is quite extensive with all the ubiquitous Vietnamese dishes, particularly the Pho soups; the different vermicelli dishes with pork/beef/shrimp/crunchy spring rolls (the best) you would find in any Vietnamese restaurant. Plus: huge servings thus the great value; Minus:the Bun Bo Hue (Central Vietnam-style noodle soup) has the right ingredients but not enough lemon grass, the beef cuts with tendons not properly cooked thus quite chewy and not eatable, the pork/shrimp/cha lua quite delcious..so the food was rated AVERAGE instead of VERY GOOD. Better luck on the next visit!

Our grandson chose this restaurant and it was an outstanding selection. We do not eat wheat so the many rice noodle and rice options were awesome. We started with a chicken satay appetizer which he said was often sold out but since we were eating early we might be lucky. It was very good. All three of us got noodle dishes - 2 medium spicy, 1 not at all spicy. Everyone was pleased with the flavor and heat level we received. Usually, the comment, âItâs not spicyâ does not always mean it isnât spicy to me. This was perfect! The food arrived fairly quickly. Service was okay but we had to ask for water refills. We would certainly be happy to eat here again.

Open until 9 pm. Started with Fresh Spring Rolls with shrimp and Crab Rangoon. Sauces are house-made! Pad Thai was excellent, as well as the Panang Curry. Free refills of rice and even sent more home with me. Portions are LARGE! Looking forward to Leftovers. Thailandâs Chang beer was an excellent accompaniment.

Because Phoenix Garden was close to the hotel, I decided to go to this veggie restaurant vs the one in downtown Richmond. When I pulled up on the restaurant I almost turned around but because the reviews were so good, I decided to take a deep breath and go in. This was on a Tuesday night and it was completely dead. There was a lady waiting at the bar for food and one other patron eating when I went in. Of course, I was truly skeptical at this point, but again, my fellow Yelpers had me pulled in. I was pleased to see a headliner that read, "All food is vegan", so I ordered the Vegan Pho and Chik'n nuggets (as an appetizer) from the very pleasant server. The meal came out fairly rapidly and boy was it huge. Everything was fantastic. It was so filling that I felt it was Thanksgiving all over again. It was so good, in fact, that I went here the next night. There were a few more people in the restaurant but I knew what to expect. I had my eyes on the Banh Mi sandwich. It was huge and delicious and came with fries, an Asian salad, broth, and an orange. So much food for a fair price. Love this place and will certainly come back when I visit Richmond again.

At the suggestion of long-time Richmond residents, we recently tried Pho Saigon for the first time. So glad that we did. Don't let the location or simple atmosphere deter you, the food is really good! Each of the four of us were happy with our meals and I, for one, was especially happy that we could chat easily. No need to compete with too-loud music. Can't wait to return to Richmond and eat here again!

We had a large-ish table arrive and they were able to seat us immediately even though the place was crowded. They are efficient with crowds and we did not have to wait long for service, our food, or refills. Great restaurant, great staff, great food.

Go for the beer AND the food. Neither will disappoint. The bacon fried rice and the steamed homemade dumplings were authentic yet creative. High quality, lots of flavor. The ambience is fun and cool and welcoming. The beer selection and quality is top notch. Definitely my favorite restaurant in that area.

For lovers of authentic spicy Schechuan cooking, this restaurant owned by a James Beard award serves spectacular food. Hidden in a strip mall near the Walmart, it is a fairly large space with very friendly service. The pork belly and fish spring rolls along with the fish in bamboo were perfectly made and came out very fast. Would highly recommend the lamb chops for entree as well as the three chili beef that is served on a sizzling platter-perfect! Looking forward to trying his othe restaurants in Maryland and DC. Will most definitely return to this gem in the Short Pump area of Richmond to try the other items.
