Find out what Asian restaurants to try in Enkhuizen. In one of the largest civil engineering works undertaken anywhere in the world during the 20th century, what was once a sea called the Zuiderzee, was turned into a combination of reclaimed land called polders and a huge lake, now known as the IJsselmeer. To fully appreciate the scale of this project, drive into town, first through the Flevoland polder to Lelystad. Then the approach to this beautiful town is via the 30-kilometer (19-mile) long dyke. You will not get a better impression of the scale of the work that took place. You first drive through mile after mile of reclaimed land, then on a road that goes right over the 'sea', with water on both sides. Enkhuizen itself was once one of the main operational bases of the East India Company (VOC). The town today is a water lovers' paradise. Boats abound; at times, every second street seems to be a canal. The Zuiderzeemuseum here has both an inside and outside section. It is devoted to the history of the Zuiderzee and the cultural heritage of the town.

A great place for an evening take out of authentic Indonesian food or have a quick snack. The food is authentic served by a family operated small catering outfit. They do not sell the typical Indonesian spices and ingredients like a toko (Indonesian store) for home preparation unfortunately. The service is most excellent helpful and friendly.

We spent a night in Enkhuizen on a bike tour and we were craving Asian food. Ended up in this really nice little place, not fancy but with very good sushi for really good value for money and a super friendly service. Definitely worth a visit !

We stopped by for dinner in this basic local neighbourhood restaurant. The place was deserted at 19:30 hr at the peak of the season. It took a while for service to appear. The server seemed uninterested, and was slow to take our order, no suggestions or feed back was offered. We ordered Butter chicken, and the mixed grill dish which were smaller in portion size but well done. The food came with tandoori rice and a few small pieces garlic naan bread. The bathrooms are upstairs. The prices were reasonable in my opinion for this basic tired looking restaurant, but with good food.
