Went to this little restaurant for Valentine's Day with another couple. Very reasonably priced and wonderful food. We all loved everything from the soup to the main courses. We were too full to order dessert. Took food home. Decor could use a little upgrading but we didn't mind. Will go back soon!!

This new restaurant in Port Jefferson Station is a winner. The room is pleasant, the service is good, the portions are large, the price is reasonable and the food is delicious. We began with three vegetarian spring rolls as an appetizer. They came with lettuce and shredded pickled carrots. The dipping sauce was excellent and the rolls were crispy and light. I had grilled chicken, vegetable and vermicelli noodles, my husband had chicken, lemongrass and rice and our friend had shrimp and pork on vermicelli. They were each served with their own light, sweet sauce. Terrific!

I only wish the food was as good as the background music was pleasant. We enjoyed the music a lot, mostly from the Great American Songbook. However, the sushi was very average. We used a Groupon, which I almost forgot about, but even with the lower price of the food it was not such a great deal. Considering the multitude of Sushi Restaurants around, Hana would not be high on my list.

Stony Brook University has a large population of Chinese-American students and here is where they come. Food is cheap with a wonderful range of dishes from noodle-based soups to more standard Chinese takeout. Love the hot and sour soup. Love the braised beef noodle soup. Pickup service is fast and friendly. All dishes are very good but perhaps not superb always. But usually you can't go wrong. Did I mention General Tso's chicken? Another top dish.

This restaurant is across the street from the Stony Brook campus. The students from SUNY flock there and I always try to order what looks yummy on their tables. I have been delightfully surprised with the non-traditional dishes.

Food quality is inconsistent and at times some dishes were terrible. Waiters can be a bit bizarre at times like when I asked if they could make it a little warmer on a freezing day in January, I was told to wear a sweater...crazy! This used to be agree at restaurant but no more!

This "Japanese" restaurant, like many others, is not run by Japanese owners. This clearly shows how sushi and sashimi are prepared and presented. Cold atmosphere, average service, and small sake selection.

I have been dining at Tai Show for 6+ years now and every time I go there I am amazed at the quality of the food. From the deep-fried oysters (Never greasy!), to the tuna tataki (EXCELLENT) to the excellent service and wonderful atmosphere with private booths available. I have tried other restaurants closer to my home. Midori was recommended to me, but I tried it twice now and both times left disappointed. The food is just okay and it was way too noisy for a nice sit-down dinner. I also tried Wasabi Japanese Restaurant in Miller Place. Again, the food was just okay. Nice staff there, but I am looking for very good sushi and this didn't match Tai Show. If you want really good Sushi, you must go to Tai Show in East Setauket. You won't be disappointed, I promise you.MaryRocky Point.

Slurp Ramen offers a fresh twist on Japanese soul food. We specialize in authentic Japanese Ramen, Rice Bowls, Buns & Salads.
So this was my first time having restaurant Ramen. I've actually made it myself several times (thank you pinterest) and wanted to see what I can do better. I really enjoyed my spicy Ramen that I ordered, but I wasn't blown away. I did try a Ramen egg from my best friend's original Ramen bowl, and really enjoyed that- wished I had gotten some on my own dish, actually. In general, it was tasty and flavorful but nothing terribly special. It's a little pricey in my opinion. I enjoyed my food, but would try other restaurants in the area before going back.
