We have used the Water Lily for a long time. The food is reasonably priced, portions are large and we have never had a bad meal here.

Phoned on the day for a table, was a set price of £22.50 for Valentine's 4 course meal, superb price as you could have anything off the menu, started with chicken and sweet corn soup, followed by spare rib in honey and chicken dumplings, mains had sizzling fillet beef, chicken satay, fried rice, wish I'd ordered some veg with my beef, dessert sounded yummy but having been to Belgium in the summer expected great things from the waffle but it was stone cold, shame really as the food & service had been great, table set out romantically with hearts and a red rose, superb value for money

Absolutely disgusted with what we got, I have heard from people that their food is nice but we disagree, they serve Chinese prawn crackers instead of Thai crackers ( donât understand how people say itâs authentic) our starter, the mixed starter for two was just not what we expected it stated that there would be battered veg but we did not expect that much batter and grease ( from what I know thai cuisine are never battered) we thought they would redeem themselves with the main course but to our shock it was the worst!!!! We ordered sea food medley and boy what a disaster, the muscles were from a jar, wasnât too keen with the squid and yet again battered cod and king prawns, we asked and they said that the sea food was fresh but I highly doubt that. Anyway we decided we were not paying the full amount and after 10 mins of putting our complain across we did get a discount, fair to say we are never going there and would not recommend it to anyone especially food lovers like us.

February 2019, myself a few other from a club decided to have a night out, for good food and good natter.Booked the table a few nights before, spoke to a polite lady who took our booking.Arrived and shown to our table, ordered drinks, myself I like Jasmine Tea and i also ordered a pint of beer, we sat and waited for the 4th person in our party to arrive.Without a momentâs notice, we headed for the buffet, noticed yet again new sides, new mains.I had the Hot and Sour soup with crackers to fire up the taste buds to which they did.You canât beat the Prawns, then then the Salt n Pepper Chicken wings and other morsels of food, Satay Chicken on Skewers, Salt n Pepper Chips, Crispy Beef etc etc etc.All piping hot, all topped up fresh and often. Beer served cool and refreshing, they do keep a good pint, that has to be said. The 4th who arrived a minute or so late, hadnât been before, he was very much impressed with the choice, the quality the service and the price at the end of the evening, he will return shortly and so we will as well.Long may it last.Sam B

Diabolical. If you want a takeaway through the just eat app donât order here . Unless your on a diet because they turn the machine off and deny getting orders .Two hours after ordering ( we are not in a metropolis) rang the restaurant and they denied receiving the order because their just eat machine was turned off. Even though we had order number and immediately rang the restaurant asking for one meal to be done extra hot.Rubbish .

Ordered what we thought was a £50+ get together family meal using Dalton Spice website. When delivery driver arrived the price was more than we expected. Meal was average. Went to shop to query the added cost to be told we should of gone off the Just eat price??? Was then told my takeaway curry was £9.50 without rice. Offered 20% off next order turned it down as wont be back.

Sweet Pepper Cafe is a cafe serving food & drinks using only plant-based ingredients. It is a place for food lovers who want to try a different interpretation of popular dishes from our multi-cuisine menu.
Got the salt and Pepper chips which came in a soggy brown bag, when trying to lift the bag of them out of the carrier bag it completely ripped and fell apart. Poor packaging. Also got the carbonara pasta, was okay. But was not keen on the fact that there was full pepper corns in it Hi Tanya,Sorry to hear about your chips. We try to use environmentally friendly packaging to minimize waste as much as possible and so far, you're the first to mention about a soggy ergo ripped chip bag. We will make some changes.About your pasta, we only use cracked black pepper on it so not sure how full peppercorns went into it. Again, a first. Also, did you know that Sweet Pepper Cafe is just a phone call away? If you're ever unhappy or unsatisfied with any of our delivered products, just give us a ring straight away and we'll deliver you a fresh batch at no extra cost. Thanks for your comment and we aim to serve you better in the future.

We are a small Authentic Thai restaurant, where you can see all the food being cooked fresh by the owner. Seats up to 25 people, small parties can reserve the whole venue. No alcohol licence but you can bring your own drinks for £2 per head corkage. Takea
This was my fourth or fifth visit to this delightful cosy little restaurant in a totally incongruous location. This time I was accompanied by both my sister, a regular customer, and my brother -a rare occasion for the 3 of us to be together. Tai, the owner and chef, works away quietly in the open kitchen delivering up plate after plate of delicious Thai food which is then usually served to the small number of tables by one waiter/waitress. They dont have a licence to sell liquor but will happily uncork a bottle of your own wine. On this visit we started with Thai prawns in a very light Tempura batter, chicken satay and thai spring rolls-all deliciously tasty. We followed this with two chicken curries-one red and one green as well as a very nice Mussalman beef curry and plain boiled rice. We struggled to finish but only because of the ample portions and we had to take a doggy bag home!Despite busily working away at the cooker Tai still found time for friendly chat-enquiring how we found the food as well as other general chit-chat. I just love the informality of the place!Hope to visit again soonBest to pre-book as it´s quite small

We had a takeaway from Nichaâs last night which was every single bit as fresh and delicious as the meal we have previously had in the restaurant itself. Far surpasses any takeaway local to us (Whitehaven) but the only down side is not being able to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere in restaurant. We could not recommend this restaurant highly enough - eat in or takeaway
