Hidden in plain sight on Hamilton Blvd in downtown Allentown is a great little restaurant worth giving a try. We heard about Bay Leaf from a regular customer who lives in Massachusetts and travels to this area regularly.Delightful menu! Check it out on their website. The selection of apps, entrees and specials made choosing daunting but we were successful. Salads were great. Caesar was made on premises. Petite salad was wonderful too. Entrees were prepared and presented well. Steak au Poivre was perfect! Portions were nicely sized. We took home our desserts.Restaurant has free parking in the rear. Ask for directions when you call. Save yourself the walk and a couple of bucks.

My spouse and I visited Asia Oriental Cuisine along with two family members for dinner on a Saturday evening in mid-May 2017. Asia is open for lunch and dinner Mondays through Saturdays (closed Sundays except for private parties). We recommend that you telephone the restaurant to make a reservation; otherwise, wait times can be lengthy (and the space offers nowhere to wait indoors). The restaurant has been listed several times on the list of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the United States, and the chef/owner has won medals at Chinese culinary competitions in New York City. (He and his wife previously operated a carry-out and catering business in Saucon Valley called Oriental Gourmet.)Asia opened in 2007 on the ground level of a two-story formerly private home on East Susquehanna Street between Fountain Hill and Allentown. (It is unusual to find a sit-down, stand-alone Chinese restaurant instead of a take-out storefront located in a strip mall shopping center.) You can park in one of two dedicated parking lots: one lot is located in front of the restaurant and is accessible directly from Susquehanna Street, and the other lot is located behind the restaurant and is accessible from Fairfax Street. At least with one handicapped parking space is available, and we saw one patron dining in a wheelchair, but the restaurant space is a bit cozy. About 70 patrons at a time can dine is what was likely the former combination living/dining room. A window in one wall provides a glimpse into the small kitchen area, while another wall contains built-in shelving that displays Chinese knick-knacks and decorative objects. Asia offers snug seating at both booths and tables; some larger round tables feature a turntable/lazy Susan in the center so that diners can share the family-style dishes. When we sat down, the owner/manager brought us a pot of hot tea, some crispy noodles, and two dipping sauces (one hot mustard and one duck). She also opened our wine bottles and brought us appropriate glasses. (The restaurant is BYOB and does not charge a corkage fee.) Our server presented each of us with two menus: one listing authentic dishes (such as cumin pork, jellyfish, and cold beef shin), and the other offering more traditional fare (such as beef with broccoli, lo mein, and eggrolls). We shared two traditional appetizers: the seafood tartlets and the pork pan-fried dumplings. As entrees, we ordered two dishes from the authentic menu (Mongolian beef and lionâs head [which is pork meatballs surrounded by braised bok choi]) and two dishes from the normal menu (Thai fried rice, and crispy ginger shrimp and scallops). We also split a communal serving dish of fluffy white rice. When our server brought our check, he also delivered fortune cookies and a dish of orange slices as a small dessert. We enjoyed our dinner at Asia - we have been trying to dine there for a long time!

Went here with friends for the first time. Really good chicken paprikas, egg noodles with bacon and cottage cheese and stuffed cabbage. All as good as the places in Hungary we ate. Prices are very reasonable. A must if you like Eastern European food.

My husband and I came to Swadee Thai House for an early dinner. We shared a Pad Thai dinner and also the Chicken Fried Rice. I must say that their Pad Thai is my favorite! The fried rice was also very good. We really enjoyed our dinner and will enjoy it again tomorrow, as their portions are enough for 2 meals!

We love jenny's Kuali, the food is fresh, well prepared and delicious. We had the mango chicken, baby bok choy with tofu and the garlic shrimp, each was excellent. Other diners had the Beef Rendang (curry beef), the Curry Mee soup and the Mee Gorang (noodles with chicken). Everyone was please with their dish and the portions were quite large (especially for the noodle dishes). Our server was professional, friendly and helpful.I recommend making a reservation especially on weekends as this place is very deservedly busy.

I'd love to give this place four stars because it's one of our few local restaurants, but it's honestly not that good. Not that it tastes bad, but the food rated spicy is still mild. Anything with shrimp has tiny shrimp, not large or even medium. Portions are fine, but the proportion between noodles and protein is off. We mostly get take-out here and the on-line ordering is great.

We are moving to the area soon, and found this little place on Trip Advisor, while searching for a good place to have lunch. We are forever grateful that we did! Kim makes everything herself - I had never had Korean food, and am now in love with it. We had the butternut squash soup, which was delicious, and truly homemade, followed by chicken and pork wraps, which were both SO tasty - we loved the flavors of Korean cooking. They are served with yummy vegetable dumplings, and a little cup of a special slightly spicy sauce. My husband and I left with very satisfied tummies. The atmosphere is homey and comfy, but don't expect fancy. I really liked it - you do feel like you're eating in your mom's kitchen, which is a GOOD thing. We chatted with Kim after we ate, and found her to be a friendly, delightful person. I can't wait to move to the area, as we will be eating here regularly, as well as getting takeout quite often, I'm sure! We can't wait to return to try everything!

Great dinner 2 weeks ago with my wife and son. Kome provides a wonderful/attractive modern atmosphere for dining. The Japanese menu is extensive and the sushi is amazing. My wife, who is vegetarian had ample selections from which to choose. Our waiter was attentive, courteous, and very knowledgeable about the menu and it's many selections. If you are seeking a sophisticated, yet personable, and simply delicious Japanese dining experience, I would highly recommend Kome.

Dined here on New Year's Eve and had a very nice time. The restaurant was quite busy but the staff "took care of business" and made us feel quite welcome. I've been here several times and enjoyed various dishes including the corn fritters, lettuce wraps and pad thai. When you visit, come hungry as the portions are generous.
