This new Korean restaurant is quite good and fancy. We dined for dinner one night and were very impressed. One of the highlights of the evening was a special that they were offering: live abalone! I've never eaten something that was still alive when I started chewing on it. What an experience! And, they let me keep the beautiful shell (or at least I didn't give it back!).For the rest of our meal, it was fabulous.We tried the spicy tuna sushi - very good. The miso soup was warm and fresh. The salads were simple yet flavorful. For main dishes, my wife ordered a Bibimbap - not my favorite, but loaded with vegetables and rice. She loved it! I tried the sweet and spicy pork. It was delicately arranged and tasted great! Unfortunately, our server forgot the rice that is supposed to accompany the meal. While they did eventually bring it out, they made up for it by offering us a sampler of several different appetizer dishes, six in all. The service, atmosphere, food, and decor is excellent. This is a worthy restaurant to try either as a local or a tourist in Carmel.

Hidden upstairs at the Barnyard collection of stores and restaurants, just outside Carmel, is a hidden paradise for fabulous Vietnamese pho, noodle dishes, appetizers, and other fine Vietnamese specialties. A dozen of us came for lunch and devoured the menu. I found the pho broth especially delectable in their Special Pho with its multiple meats. The jasmine tea smoothie was delicious, as was the blueberry smoothie and the mango tango. Outside the Carmel tourist zone, The Noodle Palace is well worth the short drive for lunch or dinner.Dear David, Thank you very much for your 5-star review! We have been going to Robata for years. It has always been very good and consistent. It seems to have changed hands and The lunch menu has changed quite a bit. All of our favorites at no longer available and prices have gone up....Let's see.....less selection, and more expensive. Not a good combination....It would seem that others have noticed also. It use to have a large lunch business, and now we are about the only ones there. We will most likely not go back for a while. Perhaps it will change back...? Hopefully.

NOT FRESH!! It was just bad. Unfortunately our favorite sushi place has closes so we wanted to give this a try. We are locals. It was just bad. We could not eat and left almost all of hte food. Considered calling the health department. We were both sick after.

It's ok sushi nothing great. Servers at lunch on Saturday were kind of rude. It was clear they were in a hurry to get out of there which made us feel rushed. They refused customers who came in before they were closing which was odd.

Small place, kinda hidden (in plain sight). No real sign, I found it because the menu is posted in a box outside. Nothing special about the establishment but there doesn't need to be either. It's all about the food. And the food is good. Simple but high quality and expertly prepared. The menu isn't huge, it's all very traditional. None of those Mango/cheddar/siracha/crab/corn flake/tuna rolls you'll find in a trendy place. But simple is sometimes better as here it is about the fish not about fancy dressing up. Oh, yes, be aware the wonderful homemade tofu dish can serve 3-4 people, it's a decent size bowl. I can understand why some say there is no joy in the owners, but they were very focused on delivering food as fast and efficiently as possible. Can't fault them for that.

This is a great lunch treat with Dario dining. Quiet, small interest on side street with delicious Italian food & fresh pasta. I enjoyed lunch here with friends. Roasted cauliflower is excellent. Grilled octopus with watermelon & mint was refreshing. Meatball appetizers was very good as well.For dessert, the Bombe s the bomb.Friendly service completes the dining experience.

This was a great find in Carmel. Itâs tucked away off Mission street and easy to miss. The food was fabulous with huge portions, the service was fast, the staff were really friendly and helpful. In a town with a lot of overpriced restaurants this is a welcome down to earth find. If youâve had enough of paying $30 plus for a plate of pasta, I highly recommend this. It closes early though - about 8- 830pm so donât be late!

What a great find this place is. Been around for almost 3 decades and although Iâm a regular visitor to Carmel, I love it here. Wonderful wonton chips and amazing salsa. Perfectly cooked calamari then the best part, the almond crusted bass. Quite possibly one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. There are many restaurants in Carmel, but you must come here. Proper old school service too.
