Wow - what a find ! The food here is not only completely delicious it is also of the highest quality. You can tell every curry is authentic and cooked using all the individual spices and herbs. My chicken tikka pathia was amazing, which I had with a delicious side of stir fried mixed vegetables. Even the popadoms were amazing quality - no taste at all of cooking oil and deliciously crispy - served with thick good quality dips. The menu has a great choice with some unusual but tempting sounding options. The service was friendly and helpful too. Definitely the best restaurant for miles around !

One of the city's most stunning dining rooms sitting alongside a beautiful bar and lounge. The restaurant serves signature cuisine by Aktar Islam one of Birminghams most prominent chefs. The menu is inspired by flavours and spices taken from the indian su
Where shall I begin? Firstly upon arrival we were asked 3 times for the name of our booking. We were sat in the lounge for a drink, we werenât given a choice as to whether we wanted to sit in the lounge or go straight to the table. We ordered our drinks, one arrived then the other after several minutes (the 2nd drink was a beer so it only needed pouring). We sat for around 20mins and then weâre shown to our table. I ordered some wine and we waited for around 20mins and then we were presented with hand towels so we could wipe our hands? Hang on we havenât eaten yet? Then we were presented with amuse-bouche, OK I thought but when am I going to see my starter? Another 15mins or so and we were given lamb breads, nice but whereâs my starter I enquired. Having had my glass go empty I asked the waiter to leave my wine on the table. He told me it was against their policy, I politely told him I didnât care I wanted my wine on my table and so he agreed. 1:10mins after we arrived at the restaurant we were served our starter. Tasty and minuscule- I get the âexperience thingâ of smaller tasking plates but we ordered from the aâ la carte menu so I expected something more. The main arrived which was equally tiny and the slither of meat on the plate was amongst the worst Iâve ever been presented. We were advised to order breads but I have no idea why as there was nothing to eat. Having eaten in other fine dining restaurants I think the main takeaway for me (pardon the pun) is that I felt Opheem was all about them and not the customer. I didnât feel welcomed, I didnât feel as if I received the care and attention or the quality of food an establishment trying to operate at this level should deliver. I provided feedback to the staff and certainly wonât be going again.

Absolutely fantastic! Can not fault a thing. Food was wonderful. Will be returning here as often as possible! Just a quick FYI- the location on the map is wrong. If you follow the map it takes you to Newhall Street, not that actual location of the restaurant. Follow the address not the map- I made that mistake.

Had some business acquaintances visit from India, the home of the curry. Impressing these guys is no easy feat. Arrived on a Friday evening where the restaurant was very busy. A nice family environment along with a calming atmosphere. My guests were very well received by front of house and helped with their choices as their is subtle differences with what they have over there. What I will say is that they were definitely impressed. Despite the fact it was busy, the service was excellent and the food faultless, with a reasonable bill at the end. Would definitely recommend Akramâs. Thank you so much for taking time to review Akrams restaurant reviews such as yours inspire us at Akrams to continue to deliver the best dinning experience for our customers We look forward to seeing you again Ifty & Team Akrams

This is one restaurant we frequently visit. Good food, quick service and turnaround, movenpick icecream. What more can you ask for. Don't expect a great dining experience. It's usually quite crowded, especially over the weekends. Decor is minimal, service, politeness and courtesy are to the point. But when you want to catch a movie in an hour and also want good food, you can't go wrong with this. Achari Gobi, Paneer Makhani, Daal Makhani, Garlic naan, cheese and onion kulcha etc. are our usuals. Ziafat has served us a number of times, very happy with his services. Food is a bit oily at times, but taste is authentic unlike some other pretend desi restaurants where curries taste sweeter and naans go chewy in 26 seconds. Not here

Had a lunch time meal. We were greeted warmly and received excellent service throughout. The restaurant is small but nice. There is a toilet. Tried the Chinese tea which was different but very pleasant. The food was tasty with good portions. The restaurant is a step up from a takeaway but not sure it competes with larger more stylish restaurants. However, for what it is I really liked it and would go again.
