We called in here as a last minute decision for Sunday lunch. I had eaten here several times in the evening and the food was excellent. The buffet was very limited in choices and not great quality. The desert was still frozen and inedible in that state. I am so disappointed as this visit negates all my previous positive feelings about this restaurant.

No visit to Bicester Village designer outlet is complete without a visit to Shan Shui Chinese restaurant.As a regular visitor to the village, I very much look forward to lunch whether it be in the ornate indoor dining area that captures the intricate, skilful and beautiful design of more traditional Chinese artwork in its decor, or in the outdoor dining area which offers diners ample privacy from shoppers, whilst still allowing to gaze at passers by as they dine.The lunch time menu is competitively priced with the other eateries at the village and there is a good choice of dishes, including a chicken curry (which comes with steamed rice), prawn or vegetable noodles, or prawns with fried rice. All dishes are well presented and, despite my many visits, I am yet to sample a dish that I wouldn’t try again. If anything, I do suffer from a bout of food envy whenever I visit - wanting to try more than one dish on the menu!Staff offer a friendly and efficient service and, despite the popularity of this venue at peak times throughout the day, will seat diners as quickly as possible to offer a personal, yet timely, service to guests. Looking for a Chinese that was open following a visit to the Shopping Village! This is technically a take away but has one table. Our dishes were huge and tasty and the value superb. My wife said best Chinese meal she has ever had and we have eaten in China too!

Booked a booth for this fabulous Chinese restaurant. Family visit with a very well mannered 3 year old. When you walk in the wow factor hits you! Great food, great service, lovely ambience. A most pleasant few hours, not rushed at all. Started with great cocktails. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were so lovely with my grand daughter. An absolute feast and we brought the leftovers home! Will definitely return!

This place was very disappointing and we shall not be returning. Firstly the Diet Coke I ordered came flat and the waiter apparently mumbled that he told me it would be flat? Secondly the starters came out and they were extremely bland in flavour. I ordered the Prawn puri which should have been a sweet and sour dish. You couldn’t taste anything. My partner ordered the onion baji and it was not cooked properly from the middle. Thirdly the main courses came out and again - no flavour. We had to add lots of salt and pepper for some taste and the curries were not hot. Fourthly my friend was directed to the staff toilet which was outside through the kitchen and that extremely dirty. And lastly the bill came and we had been charged extra. Honestly it was a horrible experience.

This place is a real gem, a warm welcome is always assured. We have become frequent visitors to this restaurant and are never disappointed. The food is always good, with Cameron on hand to help out if either unsure or just can’t decide. All the staff are great, very friendly. If you like authentic Indian food with a warm welcome try Zaara.

Another visit to this lovely restaurant where the food is so fresh and tasty.The menu features items you seldom see such as the chopoti and I love the fenugreek dishes.Great choice of food and wine at reasonable prices for the quality.Great service and atmosphere, another excellent visit.

Found this by chance and so glad we did. Had a lovely meal there last night, George our waiter was very attentive and couldn't do enough for us! Thank you George. Will definitely go back if ever in the area again.

I live in Yorkshire and booked online my Wedding Anniversary Dinner which I was looking forward too. I missed a call Days later in the evening which had left a message which I couldn’t quite understand. I don’t always take listen to my messages. Having realised Cabbages and Condoms had tried calling me, I called them up and was informed that they had a private function for 150 coming and were cancelling my Anniversary dinner. No offering of a different time that day, and a attitude that- that was it and I should just accept it ! Very disappointed and disgusted with the customer service. Not really acceptable ! c&c seemed to think I should be ok with that as they tried to call me ( once) and I didn’t answer. I’m very upset as I don’t exactly live anywhere nearby. I found it quite frustrating that when I then looked online they boast of having small private rooms and also that they can accommodate 245 people!!! Terrible customer service !!!! If it was so booked up I shouldn’t have been able to book in advance like I did, and I certainly should have been apologised to and offered a alternate time slot !

Its been some time since the last time I reviewed Shakil's. I am pleased to say it is as good as ever, and my restaurant of choice if eating out for dinner in Bicester.Efficient service and very good food. Good for all occasions. Tastes range from subtle to hot and spicy, never had a bad dish here.
