The Bamboo Gardens in Asheboro used to be extremely good and was THE place to go. Well, things changed. The owner died and the location was sold, so the restaurant moved 1/4-mile away. At the same time, more Oriental restaurants opened, and Bamboo Gardens in Asheboro spiraled downward, never to revive itself. So it was with trepidation that I stopped in early Aug. 2016 at the Archdale location. My, what a difference! Clean. Customers. Pleasant. Good food. I will go back.

My wife and I finally dined here this past weekend. We waited so long to try it mainly because of the aesthetics (silly assumption as often times the best food can be found in these hole in the wall places!). The food was tastey for the most part. Rice had quite a few dried up crunchy grains that wouldn't be found in a lot of quality Japanese places but it is nothing to keep a person from eating there again. The chicken was a bit overcooked/browned for my personal taste but again, it isn't horrible by any means. It is a place that I will certainly visit and revisit again. Considering how few Japanese restaurants are around here... this place does a great job and is certainly worth a visit from the locals.

Iâve gone there three times since April or so. I wanted something different, so when I came across this place, I wanted to try it. Their lunch special and regular price are higher than most Thai restaurants. Most Thai restaurant lunch specials are usually $6.95. Served great. The bar tender is very friendly. Last tine I ate there, my stomach went bad immediately after eating. I will not be going back.Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Our prices run in line with most other Thai eateries in the area. We aren't sure where the $6.95 lunch specials are but we are sure their service and food cannot match ours. Not bragging just stating a point. You get what you pay for. No plastic tablecloths here, no paper napkins, no styrofoam plates or pre-cooked meals. We hope you find another thai eatery in the area to enjoy.
