Went last night and we had a fantastic time. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. I even like this as much as Mardel. Great spanish, uruguayan and argentine wine selection. Nice view of the grill and brick oven. Great deserts. The pizza's look wonderful and we want to try one next. Obviously, we plan to return (hopefully many times). Great empanada's and chorizo starters. Can't wait to go back. My wife enjoyed a sirloin in mushroom sause, I had a fantastic and huge rib-eye, but want to try the big sample platter for two next time. Good looking seafood and chicken too. Wonderful deserts. We had the Flan Napolean and a fantastic Chocolate Cake. Good coffee, of course. Reasonably well done, espresso. Not cheap, but not terribly expensive and definitely well portioned. Medio is a bit more med-rare here than most, but I think that is appropriate. Uruguayan beef.
Had a "business lunch" with colleagues at this Argentinian restaurant in Veracruz. (2 from USA, 2 from Mexico, 1 form Egypt). WOW! These were HUGE portions and we all agreed perhaps one of the best steaks any of us had ever tasted.

Para espanol leer abajoThis restaurant is in a fairly new plaza. The staff are very attentive. The food was good and prepared within a reasonable time. The have a decent selection of wines. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered. They have a dessert called Pastel Chocolate Aleman. If you are expecting this to be German Chocolate cake, you will be disappointed. What they serve is a 3 leches type cake with dark semi sweet chocolate. It's OK, if you like soggy chocolate cake. I would recommend one of the other deserts.

We were in Veracruz for two weeks and ate at this restaurant four times. They have fabulous steaks, a nice wine menu, unique and very delicious potato pillows. Our group expanded to five one night and everyone agreed that the food was terrific. If you go you'll find the staff friendly and accomodating.

Top notch! It's a bit pricey, but everything I've had was delicious! For me it's a special occasion place for once in a while. We had grilled octopus, filet mignon, & a great salad, Save room for dessert- the coconut cake is fabulous! The owner alway drops by the table to offer good wishes. Try it!

The combination of quality and experience offered at El Gaucho Restaurant and a unique view of the Bay of Veracruz combine to create Mardel. The restaurant offers seafood specialties, argentinean grill and internationally influenced dishes with local and
I was walking along the coast side in Veracruz, looking for someplace to have a hearthy breakfast, put the "palapas" around the Aquarium are very awful, then i found Mardel... it barley goes noticed because it has a very little sign, but as you are entering you can feel that you are in a different place; the decoration is great, the service is attentive, and the food is not out of this world but great for the city's standards, and if you add the seaview, the good quality and the overall cleaness you have a great place to have a good breakfast and to relax while enjoying it, totally recommended!
