This restaurant came highly recommended from several people. Our waiter was very attentive and gave us a detailed recommendation on the wine we were looking. They have a great selection of local Chilean wines. When my coworker and I saw the Tomahawk on the menu, we decided that we had to give it a taste. The Tomahawk was very tasty, but also came fatty and felt like there wasn't much meat despite the size. We also ordered a plate of the potatoes which were much larger in size then expected.

Early Sunday evening dinner. We arrived with no reservation, but were seated immediately. The place had about half the tables seated, but the noise level wasn't bad. We were offered drinks upon being seated, and warm bread was served before we ordered. My wife had a soup starter, while I had meat empanadas. For the main meal my wife had sea bass and creamed spinach, while I had a medium-rare fillet with fries, fried onions and 2 fried eggs. All the food was very good, as was the service. Based on this visit, I can see why Don Carlos is near the top 100 places to eat in Santiago. Thank you very much for your kind comments, we will pass them on to our kitchen and servers! We look forward to having you again soon!

Stopped off for lunch here when I was staying at a nearby hotel (and was recommended the restaurant by the hotel reception). I ordered a ribeye steak which was very fatty; I know it’s meant to be a bit fatty but the amount in the steak served to me meant a significant portion of the meat was left on the plate. No sauces offered and, when I asked whether they had any, the response was a simple ‘no’. I ordered sides of green salad (as they had no cooked green vegetables available) and spicy new potatoes and got salad leaves without any dressing and potatoes swimming in oil. After eating at really good steak places in Argentina, which cost half the price and are three times as good, it was a real disappointment. I’m surprised at all the other reviews saying the place is excellent; sometimes I wonder who writes these things. Gracias Umesh por tu comentario, lamentamos que no hayas tenido una rica experiencia, tendremos en cuenta los detalles que mencionas para seguir intentando estar siempre a la altura de nuestros clientes
