Located in La Plata since 1894, the oldest restaurant in the city serves excellent dishes at very reasonable prices. There is an extensive menu going from meats, chicken, fishes to salads and mexican food.
I just had one of the worst experiences at the Cerveceria Modelo restaurant in La Plata. I got there and stood for 5 minutes until a waiter told me rudely to sit anywhere (there were plenty of empty tables). I then sat waiting for someone to come over and at least ask me whether I wanted a drink. After 20 minutes of nothing (no eye contact, no bread sticks, nada) I finally gave up and walked back to my hotel where I bought a bottle of wine to have for dinner. I have reviewed over 100 restaurants all over the world for TripAdvisor. If you read any of my previous reviews, youâll be struck by the fact that they are almost all positive. The reason for this is that I only write about the places I would recommend to fellow TripAdvisor readers who like me, really appreciate great dining experiences. If I have a less than positive experience I just chalk it up to the restaurant having a difficult day. But this place made me feel that they did not value my business and had no idea that customer service and a welcoming attitude is a vital component of a great modern dining experience. Avoid it at all costs, unless you enjoy being treated like dirt.I apologize Steve and I'm very sorry for your bad experience.Could you indicate if you went at night or afternoon? and in whicht sector were you sitting? I would appreciate it very much, and we care about your opion.

Below the standard. There are a bunch of basketball clubs in La Plata that have a restaurant, where you can expect like-at-home food. Not fancy, not expensive, tasty. This place used to be like that, but not anymore. We had the dish of the day, different grilled meats, a (supposedly) fancy version of âparrillada â. The meat was low quality, and expensive, the place was filled with smoke, the staff overly friendly.

After a somewhat longer wait, one can get a place outside âinside it was way too noisy for me. Service was great, the beer was even better.

We were welcomed by an enthusiastic waiter; the day menu was presented with charm and detail. The aperitive was home-made and the local dish was delicious. Some reports complained about the too much noice; this was not the case the day we visited. Recommended place.

First let me start to say we are from Argentina. We live in Houston, however every year we go back to see family. This place is expensive everyone paid $315.00 pesos even my 10 year old. The pictures on the website aren't real! Their sushi is awful. The desserts are no unlimited is only one per person. The website advertisement is a lie. I hate when they do this!

Our group of 4 went to DQ for lunch after visiting the Cathedral! I had the Bife de Chorizo(maybe 300g) at103p. I was thinking about the Lomo at 110p. My wife had spinach/chicken ravioli with sauce at 92p. The other couple ordered pollo saltena at 130p & Tallarens(noodles) with sauce at 86p. We ordered a salad at 57p & service charge was 20@. Total bill with wine/beverages was 727p. We were all very pleased & full! All customers were very decently dressed! Waiters with suits and white table clothes on tables. We did not have room for dessert, but they looked wonderful!

As a native of La Plata I was pleased to see a good steak house with high standards of cooking. We had the chorizo sausage that was superb, hardly any fat in it and cooked to perfection. We then had two sirloin steaks again very tender and succulent. If you're not a big eater I'd suggest you share the steak as at 400 grams it's a large piece of meat. The restaurant takes MasterCard and has free wifi. The reason I did not award 5 stars is because the wine list, although excellent, does not offer half bottles. As my companion doesn't drink alcohol I had no choice but drink a glass of house red. The decor was simple and clean, staff friendly. Reservations online are encouraged. We went on a Friday for lunch without reservation, I presume the place can get pretty full. Not sure if there is seating upstairs.
