Writers and poets have long flourished in arts-oriented Cuenca, the country's third-largest city and the capital of the Azuay province. Cafes and galleries are tucked among the narrow cobblestone streets. The main plaza hosts both the old cathedral, started in 1557, the year the city was founded, and the blue-domed Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, dating to 1885. Locally made Panama hats get top billing at the markets, with centrally located Casa de la Mujer a shopping standout.

Tipical Argentinan restaurant. Iron disc cooking style. Iron disc? An iron disk is a skillet pan, made for an artisan blacksmith, they give a special touch and distinguished flavour to our dishes. we cooked in them and you can served at the table, like a
Ample food. The two-for-one dishes are the best option, but I was eating solo, so I settled for the only beef dish in that category. Beef was a little tough and inconsistently cooked from medium to medium-rare, but very tasty; delicious seasoning. Excellent service in a first class environment. Pricey for Cuenca, though steak houses often are. I would go back.

My sister and I were doing a little exploring and looking for coffee when we found Marea. We were warmly welcomed and served delicious coffees. We liked the ambiance and friendly staff so much that we returned that night for dinner. We were served a freshly baked warm bread to eat while we waited for the main course. The bread was accompanied by three different dips. Our favorite was the mayonnaise/garlic/parsley dip. I'm not a pizza person, but I loved their pizza! We got half mozzarella and ham and the other half tomato, garlic, and basil. Delicious wood-fired pizza, absolutely incredible! If you find yourself in Cuenca, do yourself a favor and stop here. They also serve Argentinian empanadas! This great opinion gives us the satisfaction to work and commit ourselves with service, quality and providing to all of you dear friends the best experience!! Thanks a lot!! Happy holidays and a New Year!Marea Staff
