Cafe Restaurant Dounia is 300m from the entrance to Todra gorge. I dined on the terrace, overlooking the date palm groves lining the Todra river. The food was excellent; authentic, well prepared, served promptly and hot. I had Moroccan salad (tomatoes, onions and cucumbers), soup, chicken tajine and fruit for dessert. The mint tea went well with everything. The staff was friendly and spoke several languages. The restrooms were clean, and my meal was reasonably priced.

We ended here after a hike in the gorge and I ordered there a maroccan soup. It was quite ok, but not very special. However, 2 hours after the visit I got very sick and had to throw up and had a lot of stomach ache. After an hour it was gone again, so I am sure that the soup was the reason (since I didnt eat anything else).
