Our group of eight received excellent service, and everyone enjoyed his or her food. That some dishes were infused with chocolate was a happy novelty surprise enjoyed by everyone. The cocoa-nibs-crusted Great Lakes Whitefish was a hit with most of us, but the beef eaters among us also enjoyed their meals. A custom-ordered, gluten-free four-layer dark chocolate torte dessert was spectacular!

The Grandma team was quite dissappointed. We have been eating here for about 15 years. Always had the best food. Ordered 3 steak potatoes. Two potatoes without mushrooms. My daughter in law is allergic. The order came with mushrooms. Instead of sending it back I took it to go. She ordered a sandwich. The bacon tasted like precooked Oscarmeyer. She opened the bread and there was a mushroom. Very disappointed. Not sure if we will return.

We stopped by on our way to Chicago. We assumed, from the location, name and outdoor decor that we were in for some seafood with a local touch. The portions were generous. The service was excellent! The food was good, but nothing over the top. Our table had the burrito, catfish dinner and gyro special. The gyro meat was very flavorful. The catfish, while ok, did not seem like US raised catfish.

Haven't been here in over 20 years. Went for breakfast. Plenty of seating available. Ample parking in front or rear of building. Located on a main highway. Server said we could sit anywhere and came right over to wait on us with menus, coffee, and waters. Only one large group of men at a nearby table. I ordered the breakfast special of the day for my husband, corn beef hash omlette. My granddaughter and I shared strawberry topped pancakes. Food came out quickly and was hot upon arrival. That's always a plus. :) She filled our coffee cups as needed and was friendly. Unfortunately, the husband didn't care for the corn beef hash inside the omlette. The pancakes and coffee were very good. Service was good.

I LOVE the view and the "Vibe" of this restaurant but the FOOD AND SERVICE NEEDS IMPROVEMENT. I dined on a Friday evening for their Seafood Buffet. All meals start with "Homemade" Potato Chips and In-House made French Onion Dip. I like the presentation of the wire vertical wire swirl (cone) with natural parchment paper. The chips were stale. A real let down because it was hot and humid outside and the chips were left out somewhere and got soggy. At the Seafood Buffet ($12.95) there was only ONE piece of Fried fish in the chafing dish. I was told more fish would be coming. Again this one piece of fish was in the chafing tray and got soggy on the coating. "Fried" Fish on the chafing dish cannot set very long or the coating gets "steamed" and soggy. I had asked my server what kind of vegetable was at the Buffet and she told me there was "green Beans" and " potatoes". My server COULD HAVE "SOLD" that Buffet to people by saying "Farm Fresh Green Beans" AND "Oven Roasted Potatoes". Those VEGETABLES WERE THE "BOMB" of the Buffet. The Beans were SO.......FRESH AND FLAVORFUL AND THE potatoes were Oven-Baked small quartered with skins let on and roasted in butter(crispy edge golden and yummy). The Beans and potatoes were the "HIGHLIGHT" and the most delicious part of the Buffet. There were flies in the dining area. I seen a sign that said this property will be a Best Western Property. I have ate at Best Western Restaurant for years.... and LOVE their food. I hope that The Lakeside Restaurant Chefs get Best Western Training. I really like dining here BUT the Service AND Food NEED TO IMPROVE. My waitress brought my bill to me right after I had ONLY BEEN UP TO The Buffet once. I will return here for the atmosphere but I hope the Service and Food will improve.
See what the Colonel's cooking at your local KFC. Stop in today and enjoy our world famous chicken - it's Finger Lickin' Good!
The food is always exremely poor even for a fast food chain. Dry chicken that had been sitting in heating drawers for hours, limp fries, the works.I've been here a bunch of times in the last year. It's always bad and shows no signs of improving.

I had dinner here with my friends on a Friday. Aimee took wonderful care of us. She is a true professional. Dinner was terrific, and since it was Friday, and we were in a supper club, we had to get the fish fry. The restaurant is patterned after a Door County, Wisconsin supper club, except with a more upscale look. Take a few moments to wander around the restaurant to get a feel for Zion's history that adorns the restaurant. We will definitely be back.

I have been here several times for Breakfast. I meet here with a friend of mine that lives close to this restaurant. Breakfast items are overpriced. You can spend $10 for pancakes only here. They have a ''special'' "Touchdown" Special (on Friday's) for $7.99 two eggs (they always give you an extra),2 bacon, 2 sausage and two pancakes. Down the road North in Winthrop Harbor this ''special''is $4.95 daily. They overcook the eggs that I want over with firm centers(yolks). The eggs come fried so....hard cooked on HIGH heat that they are all BROWN AND CRISPY. The whites on these eggs are nothing but ''lacy''hard crisp and BROWN IN COLOR. Please cooks......fry the eggs slower so there is visible white left on the eggs and at the same time a solid firm yellow yolk. Brown HARD FRIED(brown and lacey crisp) HIGH HEAT eggs are both unappealing and taste nasty.
