Once a busy river port sending military supplies shipped from California to forts and camps in the Southwest to fight the Apache wars, today Yuma is a winter retreat for thousands of visitors craving its warm, dry and sunny climate. With warm weather comes golf, and the city has several excellent courses. Bird watchers will enjoy the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge, which is rich in migratory bird life and also offers hiking, fishing and boating facilities. For a step back in time to the days of frontier justice, visit the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park, whose prison dates back to 1876, or the Yuma Crossing State Historic Park, for a walk through restored historic buildings. If these sites whet your appetite for more pioneer lore, check out the Century House Museum, which is chock full of pioneer artifacts and exhibits. And, speaking of appetite, be sure to stop for burgers and fries at Lutes Casino, Arizona's oldest pool hall, where old movie memorabilia graces the walls.

Black Bear Diner, founded in 1995, is a fast-growing, community-oriented, family dining concept that offers a one-of-a-kind experience in a fun, bear-themed atmosphere. Black Bear Diner was born from a desire to bring home-style comfort food classics and
Seven of us went here for dinner. The diner guaranteed that you won't go away hungry and that you will probably need a container for your leftovers. Not so much the case with me! Have you ever been ut to a restaurant with a bunch of friends and when the meals came you suddenly realized that everyone else's meal looked great, but not so much yours? That was the case here for me. I ordered the cheeseburger basket with ice water ($10.48). Cheeseburger definitely didn't fill me up nor did the fries that came with it. Seemed like everyone else had a heaping helping of fries but me. Hmmmm..... I left unsatisfied, the others in my group left full and happy! What a bummer!

Nice little place, busy (could be good sign) lots of customers waiting for dining-in and carryout! Staff doing what they can to keep customers happy-good job! Had the Fish/shrimp combo with fries- yes fresh fish and shrimp and taste pretty good. Will give the menu another try with something not deep-fried.

This is a delightful outdoor cafe with a true tiered garden setting, flowers, birds - a perfect setting in a comfortable climate. Food is delicious and portions filling. Reservations HIGHLY recommended unless you are willing to wait an hour or more for a table. Once seated expect a leisurely wait for service, meal delivery and check. Have been here several times and always expect things to be a little more timely but never the case. On the last visit the young man who poured water, cleared dishes was more attentive than wait staff. If you have the time to spend 2 hours or more this is your place but definitely not if you have time constraints. Expect to pay $12-16 for sandwich.

The food gets a solid 4 stars. Our server was the kind of person that you would be proud to have as a daughter. She is dealing with a full platter in her family life, yet her job is performed with caring, concern and smiles. She is focused on pleasing you with the food and her service. She explains everything so you donât feel neglected. A rarity with todayâs youth. I commend this young lady and wish her only the best dealing with her family matter. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

The restaurant is a typical Cracker Barrel. We were seated quite quickly. It took a while for our server to take our orders. The French Dip was not up to expectations, the meat was way over cooked, almost burnt. We were not provided with biscuits and the the server seemed preoccupied with other things. I once enjoyed visiting Cracker Barrel but it seems their service, food quality and standards have gone downhill over the past few years. I doubt that I will return.

Lutz is a great place for lunch or dinner with a menu that varies from tacos to Burgers and sandwiches. The name is a little deceiving as this is definitely not a gambling establishment in any way shape or form. They frequently have live music on weekend nights.

Legendary Food, Legendary Service
Was at Texas Roadhouse twice in June, and had my favorite the Dallas filet, just melts in your mouth (but be sure that it is medium/medium rare). The server made sure that I had a double serving of broccoli for my two sides. The bread rolls are always fresh and warm.

From the outside, you might think twice, but be brave and open that door for a delightful dining experience. Lovely decor, cloth napkins, extra helpful and friendly staff, but most importantly, excellent food in such an unexpected place...pecan crusted salmon served with pesto pasta and fresh veggies was a hit, as was the spinach salad with grilled chicken, walnuts, cranberries and gorgonzola cheese. Order the cheesecake for dessert, the chef's special cheesecake was indescribably delicious!
