Restaurant Staff couldn't be bothered to get their bottoms up off their chairs to turn off their OPEN sign. My daughter and I arrived at almost 9:00 pm and all signs (at least 4 total) were displayed as open. When we walked into the restaurant the heavyset woman took about 1 minute sizing us up and said "Oh by the way, we closed at 8:00 pm." The restaurant had several patrons and one large family who were just receiving their food (waitress was delivering to table). We left and went to Pizza Hut where we received friendly and fast service.

This is in a big old barn..has decor of a coyote, geese, lots of antlers, just have to see it to really enjoy it!And the food is so delicious and reasonable. They are open Wed.-Sun. and their Sunday dinners are so good! Usually turkey or roast beef and fried chicken. I always order a 4 wing dinner, and it comes w/drink, real potatoes/gravy, vegetable, homemade rol, coffee or tea also included. Then they have a list of homemade pies. and of course, they'll warm it/ice cream. It is run by a family of l2. They are very personable and make you feel at home. Another favorite is the chicken fried steak! and the price: $6.95! You can't beat it!

We happened by this place last fall when they were on the golf course. We were so welcomed, it was overwhelming. We sat around after the other customers left and watched the baseball game, talked weather, politics, prices, family, and about their Iowa roots. (We are from Iowa and stopped by on a motorcycle trip from Colorado.) Our visit this May took us 3.5 hours out of our way to see Kay again and share the hospitality. When we walked in the door, we were immediately recognized and welcomed as if we had been in the day before instead of once seven months prior. They have a nice new place up town, but the welcome is still "old time" from good down home folks. Our next trip to Colorado, will go through Phillipsburg during Willer's business hours.
Enjoy a unique, friendly atmosphere and fantastic food at this hidden gem in the mid-west! Or - Carry out! Happy Hour 4pm - 6pm
Had lunch in Weston's today with my wife. It is a a bar and grill. The deco is retro with old signs, gas pumps, etc. Our server was very friendly and provided great . I ordered the pork belly burger with fries. It was at least a third pound of meat. The pork belly was ground and mixed with the beef before cooking. The burger had a very tasty bacon flavor. It was cooked just right and served with choice of cheese and the usual veggies. The fries were crinkle cut and thin. Crispy and served hot. My wife had the chef salad and said it was very good. Definitely will be back.
Because we travel with a pet, we often eat take out when on vacation. Of course we can almost always find a Subway in every small town and Phillipsburg was no exception. This is a very nice, clean, fairly large Subway. All of the food was covered, so I felt confident that the food was safe. Along with a friendly girl making the sandwiches, it was a good food choice!
