Came across this little restaurant for lunch while checking out Winchester area. Butcher shop/reataurant makes it unique and delicious. The best steak salad I've ever had! Locally raised beef and produce; small, but diverse menu, craft beer, homemade bread, freshly made lemonade, homemade desserts-- what's not to love! Clean and cozy environment. Staff is friendly and they are happy doing what they do! Will definitely come back. Highly recommend!

fresh salads, panini , pasta , mediterranean and daily specials in a upscale casual environment. We take pride in the service and quickness of the food you order.
Went in for lunch and was greeted right away sat in a comfy Booth the restaurant was extremely clean the table was very clean fantastic menu options well-priced the server Josh was great fresh-brewed iced tea homemade potato chips and a steak and cheese that was five stars absolutely perfect food and service the gripe I have is that they have a very strong orange-scented bathroom freshener and it's so powerful it seeps out into the back of the restaurant so instead of smelling hot food you smell bathroom air freshener this is an easy fix and I hope they take a consideration to it I will definitely be back I'll just sit in a different place so glad I found this place

Decided to meet sister-n-law and brother-n-law here for dinner Saturday night. We hadnât been in close to 2 years due to a bad experience. Aside from the horribly sticky tables (use the menu as a placemat), it was very good. We tried the splash cocktails, orange and watermelon and they were really good. Our server was very informative and attentive. Two of us had wings, grilled boneless and bone-in hot, and they were great. The other 2 had a chicken dish that they raved about. We will definitely be back!

Located in the Historic Union Bank Building, Union Jack serves quality classic British and American fare. Our 50-foot British inspired bar offers 38 rotating drafts on tap, & a huge selection of European, Craft beers, & wines.
Met my daughter and her boyfriend here for lunch on 9/1. They got there first and told the server that a place setting for a third would be needed. Ultimately, it never came despite repeated requests. Thankfully, my daughter had oly "finger foods" and gave me hers. It took them >20 minutes to get their first beers as they were still waiting for them when I got there. It ended-up being that all three drinks arrived together after I'd ordered mine! When the beers arrived, we told the server we were ready to order. He said that he'd be back "in a few". To took care of several other customers before coming back to us.My daughter had their vegeburger, her boyfriend the veggie wrap, and I had the fish & chips. All of us agreed that the food is first rate. When my daughter and her boyfriend decided to have second beers, again they had to wait. And wait. And wait for service. Both my daughter and her boyfriend agreed that the beers were first rate. The "pineapple infused" apple cider I had was OK.The pricing was inline with what one expects for a wanna-be tourist destination that really isn't -Inflated! Since Winchester is an independent town (It's a stretch to call it a "city",), there's likely a "restaurant meals tax" added onto the tax you're already paying the Commonwealth. (Remember that Virginia is not a "state".) Note that this restaurant is on a street that has been converted to a pedestrian mall. Be prepared to walk several blocks. There is very little (if any) public parking with two unattended municipal garages within three or four blocks. Note that once garage charges $1.00 per hour while the other is only $0.50 per hour. Have one's at the ready when paying! Also, Winchester's streets are narrow with many one-way. Beware!Overall evaluation: While the food is very good, the service is terrible. My rating is an "average" between the food and the service. That's why it gets a "poor" instead of a "terrible". There are better restaurants and more business-friendly towns from which to choose I urge you to vote with your dollars and go elsewhere.

After a day of looking at houses in Winchester, VA.with our realtor, we were ready for a relaxing place for dinner where we could chat & generally decompress. We decided to return to "Oldtown" as it was a beautiful evening to eat outside under an umbrella. After checking out the options on Loudoun Street, we decided on Brewbakers with a nice outside table with an umbrella. I had a beer (nice IPA) and my wife had a glass of wine. For dinner, my wife had the Salmon and I had the "Fish & Chips". Our server Dennis helped us with the selections from the menu and generally did a very nice job. Our dinners were prepared as we had requested and were excellent. As we were walking to our car, we came upon a musician playing the trumpet on Loudoun St. We had brief chat with the musician and told him that we were just weeks away from our 50th Wedding Anniversary. He asked what was "our song" at our wedding. I was without an answer. After some thought, my wife came up with the answer. Our song was "Tenderly" ! So, we walked slowly to our car listening to the strains of "Tenderly" played beautifully on the trumpet ! A very nice evening !

You get what you pay for & while this may be a little more expensive, itâs well worth the trip. The scallops are top of the line & melt in your mouth. And the filet mignon canât be beat. From start to finish they do it right every time. And the entire staff is friendly, inviting, & helpful in every way.

Half Restaurant. Half Store. All Country
I met with my in-laws there. They said they go there regularly for the reasons I do: consistent over all quality. Nice staff, fair prices, good simple food. Nothing fancy. One drawback, you must drive around to the back of the restaurant via the stop light to enter, toward the Walmart.

We had a meal here a year or so ago. Since weâre visiting this area again we thought weâd stop in for brunch. The place was a little busy. There was a wait for tables but open seats at the bar. The lady taking care of us was efficient and pleasant. It was fun sitting there watching the guys at the grill. Our food came quickly and it was good. Weâll be stopping in here again next time weâre in the area.

The Bonnie Blue doesn't look like much, but the food is amazing. I had my first sweet tea, which wasn't too sweet. The pulled pork and fried chicken were mouthwatering wonderful. Our server, Kevin, was charming and helpful.

We stopped in Winchester during a road trip for a small dinner to share. We ordered a cup of the Black Beans and Coconut Rice, which was tasty. Also a cup of the Butter Beans in Tomato Gravy ⦠the menu âdared us to try this dish, even if we did not like lima beans.â They were right, it was excellent! Then we split a Nolaâs Salad. This small tossed green salad was an okay, but sweet. We tried samples of 3 different dressings, but all were too sweet for us. The last item we ordered was a 6â French Market Sandwich with onions, peppers, and fried green tomatoes. It was tasty, but too sweet for a savory sandwich. They need to add something to the dish to balance the natural sweetness of the veggies. The wine list was non-existent. They were out of the two wines I requested. Tried a sample of their âhome-made Sangriaâ, but it was straight sugar syrup. The waitress was kind, but had trouble answering most of our questions. The restaurant was very dark, and we suspect there was a reason for that â¦..!
