Our party of three stopped in for a quick Sunday lunch. Cracker Barrel has always been known for having good food and great service. This visit started as usual. Great service. Friendly smile. Bread and drinks promptly served. Conversation around the table. Order taken. Conversation resumes. The waiting begins.Refills on drinks. Comments on the food being served around our table. âThat looks goodâ. Or âThat smells delicious.â (And we wait.). More conversation. More drink refills. An hour passes. We still had not received our food.Hopefully, this isnât the typical service at this location. Definitely disappointed.

Doeâs steaks are amazing. We like the filets best. John Michael was our server and he was most attentive. Every thing was super, from the tamale appetizer, salad and steaks. Cooked to perfection and so tender. Even the steamed veggies are so good. Thanks for a great experience. We will be back for more of your excellence, in a beautiful building too!

Traveling from Alabama to Dallas we stopped in Monroe for some Cajun food. This certainly satisfied our desires and our stomachs! We sat outside overlooking the river. This is no fancy place, just good food, and obviously filled with locals. Go there for the real thing! Donât forget the fried crawfish tails appetizer.....

Our destination restaurant while travelling through Monroe. Excellent service with food to match. Weâve tried different offering on each visit and all apps, mains and sides are of a level that most restaurants canât usually sustain. This time we had great roasted oysters, couldnât pass up the duck fat fries again, wedge salad (wifeâs favorite anywhere), Campfire Redfish and another fish special. Itâs difficult to cook fish correctly, especially different ones being delivered at the same time, but our entrees were perfect. That said, management has to do something about the menâs bathroom. When we asked our server about the water seeping down the wall, a yellow wet floor marker that blocked one sink, she remarked that it had been like that for some time. Unacceptable for any establishment and especially for one at this price point. Obviously, Monroeâs health inspectors havenât been around in a while.
