Was here on 2 separate occasions once for lunch and other for dinner. Attentive & knowledgeable wait staff. Delicious food with a beautiful presentation. Crafted cocktails were well-balanced. Atmosphere of remodeled old home was pleasant, open and uncluttered. Could get noisy when crowded due to all the hard surfaces. Will definitely visit again.

We were visiting from our of town for the mushroom festival and decided to stop in after seeing all of the positive reviews. We liked it so much we ended up stopping in three times in just two days! Everything was delicious, one thing was better than the next. For breakfast we had blueberry scones and cinnamon rolls. The scone was extremely moist, not dry, and had just the perfect amount of sugar on top. The cinnamon roll was the best we have ever had, and it had a delicious home made cream cheese frosting on top. For lunch we had delicious mushroom risotto and mushroom macaroni and cheese in honor of the mushroom festival and both were amazing. We cant wait to visit again soon!

Sovana Bistro has been a staple in the Unionville community since opening twenty years ago and has evolved into a highly regarded dining destination. The kitchen and bar create simple hand-made items, inspired by ingredients sourced locally at the peak of
The food here is excellent! We shared the house special salad of heirloom tomatoes to begin and it was beautifully presented. Unlike many restaurants, here they plated our salad into two portions which we appreciated. I had the nightly pasta special which was fabulous and my husband enjoyed the black pasta with seafood. We also shared a side of brussels sprouts which were excellent. A bottle of French rose wine complemented our dinner nicely. Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant is a couple miles from downtown Kennett Square and has plenty of free on-site parking. This was our first visit to Sovana Bistro and we will definitely return!

Enjoyed a memorable anniversary dinner at The Greathouse. Mentioned the reason for our visit when making the reservation and we were treated to complimentary glasses of champagne by our waitress upon being seated. The food was excellent and well presented. Although a rather busy evening, service was excellent. Our waitress kindly answered our questions about the history of the building and the area. They topped off our meal with complimentary desserts, which were excellent. Very impressed!

Located in the heart of historic Kennett Square, Portabello's has something for everyone. Chef Owner Brett Hulbert's menus offer tempting selections for lunch and dinner! Amazing burgers, artisan soups and sandwiches along with signature dishes which incl
So accommodating, with a great menu that leans into local strengths (did you know the Brandywine Valley is the mushroom capital of the world??) We ordered the mushroom crepe, and I also ordered the mushroom pasta (papardelle forestiere). Both were fantastic. They also have a great cocktail list, and they offered us a free dessert when they noticed that we had a Hallmark card with us. (It was our fifth anniversary!) If the caramel crunch cheesecake is on the menu, don't pass it up. We were both stuffed before dessert but didn't regret somehow finding room for this nicely balanced treat. Oh, and they were able to give us a table outside even though we didn't specifically request it in our reservation and it was a busy night. Thanks for everything, Portabello's!

Excellent beer and lots of choices on tap (see pic). Food is good and portions good as well. The place can get pretty loud on game nights when they have the games on TV at the bar. Overall its a good local pub.

The restaurant was pretty busy so I did understand somewhat why I had trouble getting the waitress. I arrived about noon on a Thursday and was seated promptly. I ordered a breakfast of two eggs over medium, bacon, hash browns and white toast with a side of butter (always do because the toast is never buttered all the way). Well, she brought out a plate with the toast, hash browns and one slice of bacon and one broken egg and two grape jellies. She told me that she was going to bring me another egg and my other slice of bacon as soon as possible. Strange to me why she didn't wait and just bring the order when it was complete. Reminded her about the side of butter. About 5 minutes later here comes the rest of the breakfast. While I'm waiting for her return, I have only tasted the hash browns because I like my meal served at one time. The hash browns looked perfect until I tasted them. They weren't burnt on the outside but they sure tasted burnt. Do they clean the grill once in awhile???? I hate a burnt taste and I don't like my food burnt or well done. I had a half a slice of toast left and had to wait for the waitress to bring a packet of strawberry jelly to me. So, I'm sitting like a fool with a half a slice of toast and waiting for jelly. Needless to say, I ate the bacon and toast and part of the eggs and left. Not a good experience. I won't be back.

This place bustles with activity, from customers and staff. The staff are extremely customer oriented. You will be revisited several times during your meal, to make sure you have what you want or need, and to top off your coffee if you like. I had a veggie omelette with home fries (see pic). Delicious, with ample veggies, fresh and well prepared. Breakfast is served all day....omelettes, pancakes, cereals, the usual....with Hawaiian bread dishes added. I neglected to ask what that was about....maybe you will find out when you go.You will not leave disappointed, and certainly not hungry!Thank you very much. It was definitely our pleasure.

The Farmhouse is one of our favorites for great food in a beautiful country setting with consistently outstanding service at a fair price. We went Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. Another great experience. I had the blue point oysters, the center cut filet with béarnaise sauce, the lobster mashed potatoes, and the buttered asparagus. My dinner was cooked to perfection and delicious. Our server did everything she could to make our dinner enjoyable, including connecting with our grandson. My wife prefers well done and had to send her medalions back for a few more minutes in the oven but our waitress quickly brought her another plate and suggested she enjoy the rest of her meal while the kitchen quickly attended to her well done request. The others in our party enjoyed their meals.

This was our second visit to Twelves but our first for dinner. Our party of four was seated promptly (I had reservations) at 6 and was surprised to see how busy it was for a cold Tuesday in January. We ordered some appetizers and one of us ordered soup. The coconut shrimp and soup arrived in about 20 minutes. The shrimp was good but the mushroom/crab soup was not very good. It seemed they were trying hard to mix flavors but it failed; not bad just not very appealing. There were no explanations of things being busy or that it was going to be a long wait. Nor was anything like bread or another appetizer offered. The waitress did not seem particularly interested in checking on us. It was another 30 minutes before the entrees arrived. Well, I should say 3 of the 4 entrees arrived. My steak took another 10 minutes to be delivered. I had to tell the rest of my party to start without me. Our party had salmon tacos, which were a new menu item. My daughter liked them. My other daughter had salmon which was OK but I have had much better. My wife liked her chicken. My late steak was supposed to be medium well but it was more like medium rare. It was a tender and flavorful piece of meat.In the end I did not consider our meal a good value for what we paid. Nothing was bad but nothing made us say "wow, this is good" either. Service was not bad but not great either. The dining room is nice but not outstanding. Half way through dinner the heat seemed to go off and the room got very cold. This all adds up to a solid 3/5. I give credit for the attempts but the overall execution was average.
