From the mostly solid reviews, we expected more from this 10-yr old, modern restaurant on the Dennis shore of Bass River, right behind the marina. The menu is limited, and mostly fried, although they do offer grilled salmon and swordfish, and burgers. Pros: the view is nice, since the building is raised, the waitstaff are friendly and efficient, and the seafood was fresh and tasted fine. Limited seating inside, but sizable covered deck, and also seats with tiny drink tables on the lawn below. Cons: prices are higher than comparable local places, and some protein portions are smaller. The only real deal was the field green salads, which were large and fresh, and reasonably priced at $12. Lunch for 2 with no alcohol was $57 pretax.

We stopped here for a bite to eat after catching a sunset at May flower beach. We wanted to try something new. The food was good, the staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. Seating is limited but, comfortable. Plenty of parking. We enjoyed this little local favorite and if your in the area you should definitely pop in for a bite!

Enjoy our award-winning cuisine and cocktails while overlooking the priceless beauty of the Nantucket Sound.
Ocean House is a beautiful setting, right on Nantucket Sound. Food and service are excellent. I had the tuna taco and a swordfish special. My husband had a salad and the cape cod chip encrusted cod. A couple of glasses of wine. We were here to celebrate my birthday and it was on the reservation. It would have been nice to have a complimentary dessert or just something special to acknowledge the event.

For no real reason, we hadn't been here in 40 years.... and I should have been. Baked stuffed lobster was great. Lobster bisque brilliant. Quantity and quality over the top. Service was terrific. One of the largest and most extensive menus on the Cape.

From the moment we walked it to the time we left it was excellentâboth food and service. The eggs were fixed as requested, 3 strips of bacon were delicious and choice of toast included English muffin. Service was the best, friendly and efficient. Many menu choices J got blueberry pancakes, link sausage and toast with home fries and scrambled eggs. Locally owned.

It was our last dinner in Cape Cod and it was a great evening with our teen. We had the seared striped bass, two ways chicken, fresh oysters, and duck confit and spinach salad. The food was cooked just right and the sauce for the fish was very flavorful. Our son really liked the sour apple in the duck salad. Our host Antonella was great!

I have been to The Red Cottage just two other times, but I have been looking forward to returning since last year! When I visit the Cape, I enjoy having breakfast out. This is my favorite! The menu is vast, and the selection of food makes it difficult to choose because it is all so appealing. The French Toast Foster is so good! Caramelized bananas over French toast! They also have a cinnamon bun French toast that is to die for. A large selection of crêpes, eggs, and many other breakfast items. They also serve lunch. I canât say enough good things! Expect a line, though. And they donât accept credit cards⦠Bring cash.

I can't top all the glowing reviews except to say they are right and this was a lifetime experience meal.My favorite was a combo with seared scallop, pork belly with crispy skin, and maple ginger...soup(?, such a plain word) It had strong flavors in each element that maintained their separation, while also complementing each other. The precision of the many many elements of the dishes is very impressive. Each course has several components and each component has several separate flavors. Each component has precise textures, presentation, colors, etc.A lot of care went into this meal...which changes monthly.

You know it's good when you think about the food for a year and then make a special trek to get there while on annual vacation. A "good friend" once introduced us to this place and now it's a "must do" when visiting the Cape. The cranberry walnut bread is mouth watering good. We are a walking advertisement for it, telling everyone we run into about how good it is. Their omelettes are great too. Overall, it's just a great breakfast establishment.

Been passing this place for ten years and finally decided to try it. We were not impressed. The menu had a little of everything on it, and we tried a variety of different things. None of them were very good. The interior is dark and dated, and service was very average. There are too many good places around to go here, sorry.Sorry you were not impressed. We always wish for our customers to have a great experience, and most of them do. If you would like to contact me further about what meals you had, I would be happy to discuss any issues that came up. [email protected] Have a good summer!
