Amazing spot with 6 large live-lobster tanks and lobster options galore! Delicious lobster rolls with no "fill" ingredients like celery and tons of mayo. Large sacks of cooked and cracked lobster-to-go were carried out the door while we were there. Also here can be found numerous flavors of ice cream served in the largest cones we have seen. Beach across the road - fun place!

Billy's Chowder House is a casual seafood restaurant, located in the southern coastal town of Wells, Maine, with a reputation for great chowder and lobster rolls. Billy's has a unique one of a kind location, with water on both sides of the road.
We had one excellent lunch at Billyâs this October.Felicia B took care of us and just like a previous visit she was outstanding! We had onion rings, steamers, two lobster specials (awesome deal!) and two half fried scallops/fried clams.Everything was delicious! The prices are more than fair AND they do a rewards/frequent diner program!

Located in picturesque Wells Harbor in Wells, Maine, Hobbs Harborside offers something for everyone. From classic fried clams to a complete Maine lobster dinner, you and your guests will find a classic New England dish you love. Pull up a stool at our bar
I donât know how this restaurant has gotten such great reviews as the meal o had here was one of the worst in my life. I ordered the lazy mans lobster, it was tasteless and the consistency of rubber bands. The Brussel sprouts were undercooked and other root vegetables over cooked. When I was served the French fries included fell all over the table. The waitress apologized but didnât clean the mess she made. My spouse ordered the Shore Dinner, a lobster in the shell, corn on the cob, French fries and steamers. The steamers were good, the corn mushy ( but it is past prime corn season) and lobster just OK. The best thing about the meal was the wine, which we didnât finish but were allowed to take with us.

Found this pub on the way back from dinner and decided to stop in for a beer. It was fairly full but there were a couple of seats at the bar. Some good local characters (more likely tourists) were around the bar so it made for a great atmosphere. Good variety of beers and good service.

Maine Diner has been a local institution since 1982, that has brought people from all over the country to experience good home cooking. They have been featured on Diners, Drive Ins & Dives on the Food Network as well as the Phantom Gourmet. They offer bre
Top-notch food is served up quickly in this very popular restaurant. Service is friendly and accommodating. Both vegetarians and carnivores will find plenty to please them from a fairly extensive menu.We had two excellent breakfasts there recently. Mine, a wonderful concoction called El Tiante named after Red Sox pitcher Luis Tiant, was so good the first day, I had it again the next morning. What's not to like? Two poached eggs over a large serving of house-made corned beef hash, toast and an overflowing cup of quality fruit. What I particularly liked about this diner was the service. The place was packed on the second morning and my eggs weren't properly drained so the hash had a fair amount of water on top. When I pointed it out to our server, she whisked it back to the kitchen, had a fresh plate before me in just a few minutes, then thanked me for bringing the issue to her attention. That's the kind of service that guarantees loyalty.

The Steakhouse is an institution in Wells. On Sunday, 10/13 this was our second visit here and once again we were not disappointed. It should be noted that if you are not accumstomed to a long wait for a table you should pack your patience when you visit on a busy night - it will be worth the wait. We arrived around 6:30 and as they do not take reservations, we're told it would be an 80 minute wait for our table for two. There are a couple of bar areas as well as an outside patio and small seating area inside where you can hear them call your name when your table is ready (none of those new fancy pagers to buzz when it's time!). While it was a wait that is longer than what we'd normally consider, it was well worth it. When we were finally seated about 90 minutes later there was not a single table open that we could see. When a party finished the team swept in, cleared / cleaned the table and immediately was seating the next group - so the turn around time was impressive. Despite how busy it was, our waitress was very attentive - brought bread and beverages quickly and took our order as soon as we were ready. As is our custom, we started with an order of onion rings. They were very good - didn't need a lot of additional seasoning and the coating was flavorful. We both ordered the Ribeye and they were cooked perfectly. The meat was tender and juicy and melt in your mouth delicious. I had a salad with ranch dressing as well has the Steakhouse house potatoes as my sides. The salad was very good - we had overheard someone talking about the salad as we were sitting waiting for our table and it was as good as advertised. I'm still trying to decide about the potatoes. They, to me, seemed to be a cross between mashed and scalloped potatoes. Even the next day, I'm still trying to decide what they were. Don't get me wrong - they were good. But as I said to my husband - who is a potato fanatic - I didn't think it was something he'd enjoy; but I myself would order them again - if only to spend additional time trying to figure out what they are! My less adventurous husband got french fies with his meal - nothing really special to set them apart - just good old shoestring fries. Overall, The Steakhouse is a must try if you are in the Wells area. As long as you can get past the sometimes long wait for a table, the experience is worth it.

I first visited here with a friend. We ordered at the window & sat outside. I found it odd that we had to pay at the window to sit outside, but then had to go inside to pick up our beer. I get that Maine law disallows passing beer through a window, but I don't get why we couldn't just order & pay inside even if we were sitting outside. Anyway, whatever the rules are, it was worth it!! The draft beer selection is complete, with all major types/styles of beer represented, & a few "guest tap" local brews. We at fried whole belly clams & drank beer in the sunshine! Perfect! I enjoyed it SO MUCH that I took my husband back a few days later. We sat inside & enjoyed everything there. My husband especially liked that the silverware was delivered in a mason jar & the napkins were actualy paper towels on a roll above the table. This is my kind of place, and we may return yet again before leaving the area. Oh, and the outside area is dog-friendly!

Being a serious foodie has drawbacks - the stakes are high and disappointments are frequent. However, Joshua's is amazing! We simply love the signature drinks! The salads are so fresh with greens from their garden. We had to skip an appetizer and I was almost depressed to forgo the duck paté I adore. The 2 breads were memorable - a dark molassas bread (I must get the recipe) and a salt and rosemary topped focaccia that we had to ask for a second basket! We sadly both opted for the scallop dish! It had rice a ratatouille from their own garden vegetables and other garden vegetables. The sauce was amazing - a nice lemony accompaniment! We have had the desserts but, we were so full! We return tonight! Beach food is great but, we prefer a farm to table gourmet experience! We love this place and there are no disappointments here! Enjoy!

Modern American Maine cuisine with emphasis on fresh seafood. Great view of the Atlantic Ocean as the Restaurant sits over the water. All tables come with a water view as windows are floor to ceiling. Kitchen has been carefully assembled with world class
The location on Porpoise Cove is away from the throngs of downtown Kennebunkport. The food, the service the view were all excellent. The clam chowder was delicious, as was the salmon salad. We enjoyed Andrea, our waiter from Serbia. He was very solicitous. It has the same menu as the restaurant downstairs that was much more casual and not as nice. We made the right choice.
