Discover Restaurants offering the best American food in Vancouver, Washington, United States. Steeped in history, Vancouver is the oldest city in Washington. Once the largest western outpost of the British Hudson's Bay Company, where supplies and food were bartered in the 1800s, it was closed in 1860 as Americans took over commerce. The outpost was later recreated as the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. For more history, check out the Pearson Air Field, the oldest operating airfield in the West, where vintage aircraft are displayed at the Pearson Air Museum. If adventure is your bag, Vancouver is the perfect base for day trips to the Columbia River Gorge, the breathtakingly beautiful 70-mile river stretch that cuts through the Cascade Mountains, or Mount St. Helens, the site of the famous volcano, both of which offer a slew of outdoor activities. For calmer pastimes, cruise the picturesque river in the Columbia Gorge riverboat, or visit Beacon Rock, the world's second largest monolith, where a walking trail leads to spectacular panoramic views.

On Hayden Island, thereâs something wonderful besides bridges and boats floating in the water: the Island Cafe. Our vibrant decor and lively team will quickly transport you from Portland to paradise. And our open dining room overlooks the marina and is fi
We stopped by this restaurant for dinner on our way into Portland. It is on an island and the restaurant is floating on a dock. There was a wait but they had seating for those who were waiting and it was a great place to enjoy the fresh air after a long drive. We enjoyed watching the geese and ducks swimming around the marina and the boats coming and going.Once we were seated our waitress was prompt and friendly. She answered our questions about menu items and did a great job of making sure we had everything we needed. Our family of four ordered a variety of items including a Hawaiian burger, fish and chips, fish tacos, and a lobster roll. All items were fresh and delicious. The portions were plentiful. We also took a couple slices of key lime pie to our hotel to eat later. The waitress had packaged everything in containers so the whipped cream and limes would not melt on the way. Definitely recommend! We couldn't be happier that you and the family were able to enjoy a little bit of everything off our menu! When you're traveling, sometimes the best moments are enjoying the simple moments by the water, watching the geese go by as you enjoy a great meal with those you love. We were more than happy to answer all your questions and make sure you got exactly what you were craving. If you ever find yourselves in Portland again, we'd love to have you back for another memorable meal with the family. Take care, Island Cafe Team

Enjoyed Happy Hour Beverages and Light Dinner while visiting our children in Vancouver. SUPERB Service by Ikaezia!!! She was very efficient in taking both our drink and inner orders as we had our grandsons (age 16 months) with us in the bar. Beverages arrived within minutes and our dinners came out 10 minutes later - nice and hot. All had an enjoyable time!!

This Is A Bakery And Small Cafe For Sandwich Salad And Soup
Fell into this place on a weekend family visit to nearby portland. The weekend brunch was excellent: corned beef hash was filling; blueberry breadpudding was wonderful; beignets were delightful; biscuits and gravy were a total highlight because the biscuit quality was amazing. Plus, our coffees were strong! Worth the 30-minute wait. Would definitely come back.

A classic diner with amazing food. Come grab a bite to eat at one of Vancouver Washington's Finest dining experiences.
We enjoyed a great meal w/ quick service. Itâs a huge menu with lots of choices, we went for the Cadillac meatloaf & a fried chicken dinner w/ onion rings as appetizers - recommended! Too full to attempt any dessert, we took away 1/2 of our dinners as leftovers. Guess weâll just have to come back...

This place is simply a class act. We have always had a great experience when dining here. Dinner is a total joy. Breakfast is wonderful and no more expensive than many of the high volume places. We have found the preparation and presentation to always be top notch. Servers are friendly and welcoming.

Nice surprise. We had planned on another restaurant on Labor Day, but they were out of food...hahaha.We passed by Tommy O and decided to give it a go. They were under staffed, hadnt expected a crowd so service was a bit slow, but they were gracious and apologetic and brought out wonderful hot food. The food was fantastic, we were quite impressed.

After reading g the reviews I was disappointed in the food. The service was excellent though. My hashbrowns were crispy on the outside and soft inside. My patty sausage was tasteless and my over medium eggs were not cooked enough. The whites were undercooked (snotty).

Gray's at the Park. Northwest Bar & Grill. Featuring fresh, local ingredients, regional wine, locally crafted beer in a comfortable atmosphere.
Tried this restaurant for first (& last) time. Spontaneously selected after reading reviews. They have free valet parking which we didn't know; were informed after I entered & asked where we could park (after driving the entire area for 10+ minutes). Also tried using OpenTable to reserve but that site reported they were full. When we arrived, it was nearly empty. Told our host, & he said he'd check it out; that customers "often" complain about that problem. Strange they haven't figured out how to resolve that with the vendor that they likely pay for advertising. Anyway, our waitress was very nice. Took our order with a smile... made us welcome. But the fish & chips we ordered, tho warm & crispy, was 'flat' in flavor. And the music played in the bar was a cowboy genre; too loud & twangy to really relax & "dine."The meal was pricey for what we received. Great presentation & OK but not for $50+. Most of the food is "fancy pub" ~ we were hoping for a bit more upscale. Perhaps they're fun in the summer for lunch but for dinner, we'll pass...
