My husband and I had dinner at the bar on a Saturday. Everybody was so friendly and the regulars introduced themselves. We started with the rav and broth, since we had never heard of it before. It is a local soup of ravioli (or tortellini in this case) and chicken broth. It was pretty good. We then split the southwest chicken wrap with sweet potato fries and we were both happy with the choice. Michele took good care of us. I would visit again if I were in the area.

Mark Allen's knows what it takes to be an outstanding restaurant. Starting with their service; servers were prompt, friendly and smiling during our entire meal. The food - bartender knew how to make the perfect dry martini anywhere - bar none! My husband had their 13 ounce New York sirloin medium-well; cooked to perfection, the meat was seasoned beautifully.I had the Wonderburger, absolutely magnificent. Well done Mark Allen's, we will tell everyone about you and we will be back!Hi CadKdb, Thank you for taking the time and leaving us an amazing review! We are so happy to hear your experience was positive in every possible way. It was truly a pleasure to serve you and we look forward to your next visit! :)
Jack's Place Restaurant & Bar is a casual dining spot serving classic American cuisine, a selection of beverages, and good times. Grab a table for lunch and dinner and enjoy delicious appetizers, and made-to-order specialty pizzas that get the party start
This is the most pathetic restaurant I have ever witnessed! We were seated and waited 2 hours after ordering before our food arrived. We ordered appetizers that were never received and our waiter did not once stop back at the table to let us know what was going on or to refill our drinks. We had to go to the bar to get refills on water. My frozen daiquiri was warm when served to me. When they finally brought the food out, they only had 3 of our 4 meals. The burgers were burnt and the fries were under cooked. I am still in absolute shock over how awful our experience was! All the tables around us had the same wait time and we all got meals for free.

Husband and I were out for a Sunday drive on this beautiful day in May. We were originally going to stop in Utica for a late lunch. So glad we didnât and kept driving or we would have missed this place. Awesome food, wonderful service. Our waitress was super friendly. Their Bama Nachos were phenomenal and we split the Ruben. Generous portions. Canât wait to go back and try the meat sampler.

Since 1985 the Uptown Grill has offered polished casual American cuisine, serving our full menu for lunch thru dinner seven days a week. We offer one of the most diverse menus in the area. Our atmosphere includes beautiful outdoor seating, screened-in pat
What is really nice about this place is the seating in a screened area facing the street. It is "outside" without having people walking by and smelling the fumes of the garbage truck going down the street. Beer selection was good, but pricey. My salad was very different and enjoyable. Wife got a burger, which was cooked to perfection, but wife likes them burnt, so was not satisfied. Service was great and timely. Overall cost was higher than a tavern, but expected that. Recommended.Thank you for joining us, we are happy you got to enjoy the screened in patio. Our chefs love to create unique and delicious flavor combinations for our ever-changing menu! We are always happy to cook burgers to any temperature you prefer! We hope you can join us again!Best,Ryan

We ate in this restaurant because the main dining area wasn't open yet. This is basically the same restaurant as the big one at the lodge. t had such a taste for roast turkey so that's what I ordered. My meal included turkey, mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes with gravy. It wasn't even room temperature...it was cold. I did let our server know and she brought me another plate of food which was cooler than the first plate. I didn't want to wait any longer so I ate it. I did let her know before I consumed it and she really didn't do anything about it....not even call a manager. I was charged full price as well. I would not go back. Very disappointing especially after a day at beautiful Starved Rock.

We stopped in on our way to Starved Rock. The restaurant looked great...clean, nicely-decorated, appealing. We ordered fish 'n' chips and a turkey BLT. Both of us enjoyed our meals! Service was great. People were friendly! We'd go back!

Located in Utica Illinois, Skoog's Pub & Grill is famous for their great homemade food. Opening in 2000, Skoog's has quickly become one of the most popular gathering spots for locals and park visitors in the historic "Starved Rock State Park" region. Skoo
Dinner on holiday with best friend my wife. Smaller place with local charm. Barkeeper was friendly and greeted us on entry. Beer on tap was your normal industrial pulls, with a few notable crafts. Service was good, but I think the server forgot our order, or the cook was killing chickens, as the fried chicken seemed to take forever to get to the table. Large portions for a reasonable price. Actually two meals for us. Cannot complain too much. Recommended.

We decided to try them out in the new location. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server took our drink order and returned promptly with them.We ordered the sausage rolls for an appetizer. Very tasty indeed but found it quite odd the server brought us one (1) styrofoam plate for the appetizer. The gumbo was excellent as well. So tasty! The Jambalaya my wife ordered was very good according to her. My entree unfortunately was not so good. The gator, catfish and shrimp had very good flavor but they were all cold! The seasoned fries were cold as well. I tried to get the attention of the server but that was not happening. I ate the food anyway because she never did return. We had to flag her down to get our bill, and she just kept saying I am sorry. Not sure why she was sorry since I never did bother telling her that my entree was cold. Maybe she knew it was when she brought it to me? I do not know.If this had been our first time here we would not return, but we know they are capable of so much better so we will be back again sometime.
