This place is great for breakfast or an early lunch since they close around 1:00 pm. It always seems to be busy and the staff is very friendly.
My hub and I (late 60s) tried to have breakfast July 4, but it was closed when we got there. We went just before 1:00 p.m. on July 5 and had eggs and bacon and toast. Stephanie, the server, is excellent and knows her business. We enjoyed her as much as breakfast. Oh, the café closes at 10:00 a.m. on holidays but a little after 1:00 other days. Not sure about weekends, as we were there weekdays. It is closed only on Xmas and New Year's Day. It is close to the Oakwood Resort, where we were staying.
The Good: value, great service, unique, quick, big portionsThe Bad: not fancy, a bit run down, CASH ONLYThis is a old drive in like a Sonic. It's just off a main road in Syracuse. There is enough parking because you pull in to order of course. The entire place is a little hang dog needing a little paint and care. There is no landscaping to speak of.Our server was quick, friendly and efficient. They have a wide variety of classic American fast food and the prices are very reasonable. We found the burgers to be excellent. The fried cheese was also very good. The Road Word: it's worth a 20 mile drive for that old school drive in experience.

If you want something besides fast food, it's probably one of the better places. Go inside the gazebo and go downstairs to access the restaurant/bar. Tues. night is prime rib special, which was good. Our total bill was about $35 for 2 people for dinner.

On Monday, August 21, 2017, Eclipse Monday, we stopped in for lunch! The food was made while we waited and the steak and cheese sandwiches were the best we have ever had, fries are freshly cut and served hot!Even though the food is great, the owners are the reason this restaurant is the place to go! The hardworking couple go out of their way to make delicious food and to make their customers happy and feel welcome. The owner allowed me to use his eclipse glasses and encouraged me to watch the eclipse. We stood in the parking lot sharing that historic event. His wife was extremely friendly and we found a common thread in our lives, both of our sons serve our country! I will never forget this wonderful couple, Or the incredible steak and cheese sandwich!

The Channel Marker is located on the boat channel between Lake Wawasee and Syracuse Lake in Syracuse, IN.
The best part of our visit here was sitting outside near the water. The food is WAY overpriced and nothing special. The fries were very good! Nice waitresses.

On our way into town we stopped at Absolutely Apparel Gifts. They recommended we try Chubbie's. It was Tuesday $2.00 Hamburger Night. The hamburgers were delicious and they'll put whatever you want on them. We also got one side of fries to split. They were also really great!

The food was amazing! Had the bone in pork chop with blue cheese crumbles, fettuccine Alfredo and a sleepy owl pizza for dinner. Then had their worlds smallest sundae ! Amanda the waitress gave us the best service we have had in a very long time. 5 Star meal and 5 star service!

Mirroring the Oakwood Resort's relaxing, lake-life ambiance with a casual-elegance, The Pier is a stylish choice for a business breakfast or lunch, a romantic dinner or an evening of out with friends. The Pier is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, wit
We spent a weekend in July at the Oakwood Resort, this is the in-hotel restaurant. Located right on the lake, with great views, indoor and outdoor seating, local live music, and friendly staff (Thank you, Jacob Shearer!) who work to make your wishes come true. We saw no reason to search for a different restaurant on the second night. Fun atmosphere, and an incredible sunset, with the addition of fireflies!

Westmain defines "hidden gem". There is very little signage, parking is down the alley, and you don't see the patrons thru the window. The decor is modern yet restrained, the best drink coasters ever and a wait staff that rivals a big city restaurant. But it is all about the food. the balsamic bone-in pork chops were so good I may not need to go to the State Fair this year. The chicken thighs had a robust seasoning that almost rivaled a rub. The sides each had something to take them up a notch, with the fried Brussels sprouts my favorite. Now on the dessert menu, there is an ice cream creation called the Bombah. Rich chocolate, strawberry and pistachio ice creams layered in a hard dark chocolate shell, shaped like an egg and sliced into two halves. An EXCELLENT finish.Wawasee lakers may not realize what a great place they have here.
