Goose & Gander is a charming restaurant in St. Helena, located in Walter Martini's historic 1920 bungalow. Lunch & Dinner is served daily in the basement bar, the dining room, & in the garden. Goose & Gander is a wine country public house and a local favo
My friend and I recently had lunch at Goose and Gander and enjoyed the experience. We split a couple of appetizers - bone marrow and octopus. The octopus was particularly noteworthy. We each had the ribeye-based sandwich, which, in our opinions, was just ok. Service was professional, friendly, and efficient. After lunch we went into their bar, which is a great space, and had very tasty cocktails. I would definitely go back.

A full service specialty grocery store established in 1975. We have a wide variety of meat, seafood, cheeses, house made products, a full service deli and so much more.
What a delightful find. Kind of a poor relation to upscale markets like Whole Foods or Fresh Market, but endearing in its ordinariness! They have everything you could want plus unexpected finds like birdhouses and socks!

The Grill at Meadowood is a beautiful facility in a tranquil setting. A warm, sunny day so we elected to have lunch on the lovely deck overlooking the golf course. Service was professional and attentive and never missed a beat. I ordered salmon and my wife fish tacos, both accompanied by excellent glass of wine. An amazing lunch - almost. Sadly, about 10 minutes after being seated and shortly after our drinks arrived, a groundskeeper began mowing the entire fairway below us. Tranquility erased and pervasive engine noise filled the air for most of our lunch visit. Disappointing.A beautiful restaurant with an amazing setting. But some thought needs to be put into time-shifting maintenance activities away from meal periods.

The restaurant is very clean & pleasant looking inside and boasts housemade breads and baked goods so our hopes were up. The food and service was uneven sadly. Also, we noticed a musty smell after we sat down. Our french toast and bacon were very good. The rest of the breakfast wasn't. We ordered medium-cooked poached eggs that arrived barely warm and extremely runny, chicken apple sausage that had unchewable chunks of gristle, & finally blueberry pancakes. The blueberries were fresh & good, but the pancakes were very bland. The waiter never came back to enquire how we liked our breakfast, & never asked why the eggs, sausage and pancakes were barely eaten. Outside of the bathroom hall area I witnessed a waiter remove a muffin with a bare hand and put it in a plate to serve a customer. Yuck.

Open today (Friday) for brunch! Ok, why not? Time for a Bloody Mary and vegan BEET HUMMUS dip with veggies! That dip...OMG! And Bloody Marys made by my bartender herself, Sheena...and Frank Sinatra singing in the background...awesome! Kudos to ARCHETYPE for adding many vegan items to their menus!!

Market Restaurant offers an elegant yet comfortable dining experience. Located on Main Street in St. Helena, the historical building features exposed stone walls and an antique bar dating back to the turn of the century. The menu features American classic
This restaurant has always been our GO-TO place, but alas, No More! When you are charging $15+ for a cocktail, the bartender has to know how to mix drinks. We came early and the place was nearly empty. So why would it take 20 minutes to get our drinks, and get them right? They simply don't know how to get the drinks out quickly, and it's been a problem so long, that we've given up. Chipped Ice! That's right, what do you get when you use chipped ice for an "on the rocks" cocktail? Answer: you get an alcohol flavored glass of ice water. This is amateur hour. And if it sits on the bar for ten minutes before it gets delivered to the table, it's worse. As for martinis, the chipped ice turns them into gin-flavored water; sure, it fills the glass, but it's not a proper martini. NO ONE wants a diluted drink. Back to the beginning, why would we wait so long to get terrible drinks in a restaurant that's nearly empty? We've mentioned this to management, and they just don't get it. We give up. Oh yes, the steaks. We asked that they come out hot off the grille. No way. They probably sat under a heat lamp for ten minutes so they came out warm, but not sizzling hot the way steaks should be. Again, nearly empty restaurant . . . and obviously no attention to detail. We even told the waiter . . . be sure to bring the steaks out sizzling hot! Didn't happen.

Did not impress. Stiff, subtle restaurant with good quality food. Not friendly for children. Staff are good, but slow serving. Wait a long time for food and drinks. And also expensive. Not worth the money.Food and cocktail was good.

I do not understand all the positive reviews for this restaurant. We had fresh tomatoes and artichokes as an appetizer, and that was excellent. Everything went downhill from there. The entrees were forgettable at best. They served a New York strip steak and described it as âsliced for your convenience.â They had to slice it in the kitchen because it was too tough to slice, much less chew, at the table. Several of us had the fish dishes that were uniformly found to be tasteless. Wines were good. An totally regrettable experience. ecloebl,Thank you for your review on your recent visit to Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch. At Brasswood, we love to share our passion for food and wine and the Napa Valley lifestyle. Our concept is simple; celebrate our local bounty by making elegant wines, cooking delicious food, and creating a warm and welcoming space where guests can relax,
We did the wine cave tour and lunch tasting with wine pairing. While the wine cave tour wasn't particularly memorable, the lunch ended up being one of our favorite meals in Napa. For starters the hand pulled mozzarella was amazing! It was made right beforehand. The other dishes, pappardelle with short rib and lamb chops were equally as good. Topping off the meal was a really nice wine pairing. A great and memorable meal!

A foodtruck that grew up into a very good restaurant. Always get the Tri Tip Bites for and appitizer. Excellant menu focused on an ecclectic southern twist. Love the gnocchi with the chicken meatballs. Good bar with unique cocktails, local wines, and draft beer. Don't miss the beignets. Wine country comfort food.
