Our family ate dinner here. We had appetizer platter with mozzarella triangles, fried pickles and fried green tomatoes. Absolutely delicious! My husband and I had the tenderloin sandwich platter. That was the biggest sandwich Iâve seen! I could only eat about half of it. Seriously, two people could share. My daughter had the chicken Alfredo and loved it. My son had the Parmesan crusted chicken and enjoyed it as well. All the portions were huge. Our waitress was very nice but it did seem to take a while to get refills. We loved it!

Iron Skillet has played a major role in significant celebrations in my family for decades. My parents took us there as children for Easter. My sister's rehearsal dinner was there. My son's graduation dinner celebration was there. And, most recently, I took my boyfriend there to celebrate a milestone birthday. On the plus side, the food was as good as ever. And, I noticed a combo dinner that included fried chicken, steak, and shrimp that I don't remember from before. All meals come with french onion soup or tomato juice, salad, pickled beets, yeast rolls with apple butter and whipped butter, corn, green beans, and REAL mashed potatoes with gravy. Although a few extra desserts are available, a selection of ice cream with four different sauces on a sauce caddy come with all meals. And, the fried chicken will be the best you've ever eaten. But, you have other choices, including steak, shrimp, and fish entrees, too.The service was great, and I recognized two employees who might be owners or long-time managers. Both gentlemen have been there for decades, and that was heart-warming. Their level of attention to customer service cannot be beat.On the downside, the exterior of the restaurant made me sad. Paint is peeling off the patio area, the awning is faded, and a piece of wood covers a second level window. I know this restaurant sits in an "iffy" area of town -- complete with signs telling customers not to leave valuables in their cars, but I just hated seeing the building like that and had to be reassuring to my guest that the food should be wonderful. As far as price, Iron Skillet is very reasonable. Our two adult meals (mine chicken / his combo) plus all those side dishes and dessert came out to $48 total.

Locally owned and operated family friendly Pub. We have quite a museum of racing memorabilia. We specialize in Chicago style pizza, fish and chips and a HUGE pork tenderloin sandwich.
My husband and I stayed at the new Marriott which is across the street from here. We actually ate here twice on our one night stay . We ate lunch here, and I have the best drink ever! It was the coconut Blue Hawaiian . I got a steak salad, it was very good, however, I did order my steak medium and it definitely was not medium, it was gray all the way through. But still very tasty. That's the only reason for the four stars . My husband got a salad and nachos and he enjoyed his meal and got a drink as well. Then we came back for breakfast. I had the French toast and it was quite delicious too! My husband got the basic breakfast food like eggs and toast. He liked his breakfast also. It was close and it was very good and we will definitely return here when we come to visit Indiana again. I would like to try other items on the menu also because they had a lot of good choices. Very friendly waitresses. And very welcoming host . If you like sweet tropical tasting drinks, don't forget to get a Blue Hawaiian

Feeding two preteens after go-carting can get expensive, but not here. Burgers are juicy, large and come with a full order of fries. Best kept secret in town. They have a full menu with lots of choices. Staff is friendly and helpful. One of the best and our favorite burger place in town. Plenty of street parking.

In the area. Was looking for something quick to eat. Basically every was fried and greasy bar food. Nothing special. Pretty basic menu. Not worth making a special trip for.

This is a great little diner on the main strip in Speedway. We stopped by before our tour of the speedway and were really glad we did. The food was good and the atmosphere was fun with old race pictures and memorabilia around the restaurant. Our waitress called us "sweetie" - you can't get any better than that! Some of us had breakfast and some had lunch - it was all good, fast, and delicious. Get the pancakes!!!!

Very nice place to hold a team dinner as long as you get their private room. The private room was spacious, easy to talk to others, and seemed to have assigned servers to the room. Food was excellent & servers were very attentive. Reasonably priced food & drinks. Would definitely return & recommend this place.Thank you. Glad to hear we took good care of you, come back and see us.

The atmosphere was great. Drinks very good. My meal was great. But my husband ordered catfish that looked and tasted just like tilapia. Hmmm.. and the cornbread!! We are from the South (but have also lived in the north) and we have never seen anything like it. When the meal came we busted out laughing! Here was this tiny white square that didnt look or taste like any cornbread we have ever seen. It was hilarious! Not to mention that the sides, while tasty, were in itty bitty ramekins.

The Hill family opened Dawson's on Main in June of 2006. We are known for friendly service, great hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, local craft beers, and the best Hoosier tenderloin around. Come buy and introduce yourself and see what you have been missing
There were 6 of us. The salads were served....good, large, fresh....but not much dressing. We, all, were about 1/2 way through the salads and the entrees were served.....for most of us, the entrees sat, GETTING COLD, while we finished the salads. NOT GOOD!Fish & Chips.....good fish, sizeable serving....chips were nothing special....'regular' french fries.....why not some 'kettle' chips or similar chips a little thicker???Pot roast was not bad, but could have been better and had a good vegetable selection and a lot of gravy.Beef Stroganoff.....I make MUCH better at home.....when I go out, I want to have something better than I can do myself.....no onions, that I could ascertain,VERY few mushrooms, very limited sauce and a lot of noodles.....the meat was good & tender...probably the same meat as the pot roast.
