I stopped by to make a carry-out order for lunch one day. It took over 45 minutes to get the pizza, which is a really long time by any measure, I'd say. The food was good, at least, but I'm not sure if we'd be back unless we had a lot of time to eat (or didn't have our restless kid with us).

My companion and I have seen this place many times and wanted to give it a try. The location is convenient and there is parking right out front and street parking close by. Unfortunately the location also has a lot of street noise, which makes for difficult conversation at times. There are traffic lights directly outside and it is a busy street. The front of the restaurant is open air, so the noise invades the dining area.We ordered the Plato Surtido, or the mixed grill. It had a combination of various meats, chicken, ribs and beef. It was accompanied with two sauces (mild and hot) and a very small serving of coleslaw and banana ceviche to share.The surtido also included fried yucca, a bowl of black ban dip and tortilla chips.We went for an early supper, around 5 in the afternoon. We were the only customers at the time. Service was quick and friendly and the food was prepared without too much of a wait. Presentation of the food was very nice.The ribs were good. I would order them again. The chicken and beef had good flavour, although both were dry. The black bean dip with tortilla chips was good and although the yucca was good, I would have preferred fries or another style of potato to accompany this instead of the yucca.With two local beer each the bill was reasonable at 21,780.

We have been both consistently pleased and somewhat disappointed in various trips to Mario's over the past 2-3 years. Sometimes the food is delicious, with a quite varied menu, and sometimes it is just so-so. Hamburgers and pizza are good, some of the seafood dishes and salads can be very good, but chef turnover has been cited as a problem. Mario's is a good place to come with a group for cocktails and you can usually get a good, or sometimes great, meal.

We went here for an informal lunch and really enjoyed our food. We tried several things, including a pizza, some chorizos, a chicken cordon bleu, and a steak. They were all very good, although the chorizo wasn't really amazing. We'll likely go back, although the prices were a bit up there (especially for Costa Ricans).

This place offers the best chicken wings w/ sauce of the region. I really like the way they are done, because there is a variety of sauce options, for all tastes (from sweet to spicy). And then, you can get an ice cream, if you are in for a desert. Finally, it is cheaper than lots of options that only gives you small chicken wings.
