If you want superb lobster bisque or clam chowder or fresh cooked fish, large lobster rolls, this is the place for you. There is some seating on stools but taking the food with you is a great option. Lines can be out the door, but it moves quickly. A must if you are visiting Sag Harbor, N.Y.

We decided to have dinner here. We both ordered the Simple Lettuces/Salad. The dressing was outstanding we go downhil from here. My Beach Plum Farms Pork Shank with Anson Mill's polenta, red wine sauce was awful. The pork was overly fatty and no taste, I couldn't find the red wine sauce, but I got brussel sprouts that we just boiled. My husband ordered the Long Island Porgy Filet. He thought the fish was ok as was the brocolinni, but the tomato vinaigrette was a watered down version of ketchup. He would have rather had tarter sauce. I picked at my meal and then mentioned it to the waitstaff. The waitstaff was terrific, happy and smiling. A manager came over and told me he was not charging me for my dinner offered to get me something else, brought us more wine at no charge and served us dessert. Another manager wanted my constructive criticism so they can provide better service and food. In all this review is covering the food and not the staff. The Beacon is the Hamptons summer spot to check everything else at the door: kick back, drink, eat, sit, talk, enjoy, & watch the sunset. That's it. We opened The Beacon up, way back in 2000. It's been a great success since Day 1, only growing better with
Iâm not a brunch goer usually, but I was meeting friends for lunch at 2:00on a Sunday so what are you supposed to call it?i had this really good brunch food item that the chef made up which was Eggs Benedict with a hamburger patty instead of the Canadian Bacon. It was amazing. And my friends salads looked good, too, although one friend had a hard time getting a side of avocado. The view here was lovely overlooking the water and although they donât take reservations, there was no wait.

Stopped in for a quick bite. Good size Drink, for a reasonable price.$9-$11.Had the Reuben, and Spinach Salad, both substantial and good. The Corn Fritters, were pretty good, with dipping sauce in a To Go portion cup, found that odd for an in house plating.

We had booked a reservation, but discovered that oysters were $1 apiece at the bar during Happy Hours that lasted till 6:30 Mon-Thur. It was Thursday. With that we moved to the bar, had a dozen each and then shared a good 8 ounce burger for our dinner. Enjoyed the food, and the best bargain for our dinner in a costly place like Sag Harbor where restauranteurs have to make a year's income in less than 4 months.

.... for a Brit in the current dollar pound environment! Setting aside 5 burritos, 5 beers and a margarita with 10% tip (only? Only in the US would 10% be an insult - in U.K. That would be good performance) cost me £140, the food here was great. Don't be put off by the shack appearance and give it a go.

Friends of mine were in from out of town and we took a ride out to Sag Harbor, not initially looking for a place to eat but once we arrived, everyone was hungry. After looking around Main Street and seeing who could seat us quickly, we settled on Page at 63 Main. It is a sizeable space with seating out front, inside and an outdoor garden towards the back. We were seated immediately, our drink orders taken and we began to look over the menu. Warm bread was brought to the table with butter. Two of us ordered the scallops, one ordered spaghetti bolognese and the last ordered a penne pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe. The setting is very nice and has a great ambience. The food was delicious and the waiter was attentive and accommodating. We were full at the end of our meal and opted out of dessert and coffee. It is pricey being Sag Harbor and pricewise it was in range with most of the restaurants in the area. Wine by the glass is very pricey. However, despite this, it was an excellent meal and I would recommend and return.

After viewing the menu to decide if theirofferings could accommodate our dietary needs, we were seated by a pleasant hostess to a lovely table across from the bar. The atmosphere was beautiful with fresh flowers on each table and the table set with china and crisp linens. Mission-style chandeliers hung over the bar illuminating the area for just the right ambiance. It took our waiter some time to greet us and offer us service. He was professional, efficient and helpful, but serious as he never smiled. The bread server was abrupt and when we asked if they had a gluten free cracker option her replied was a curt,âNOâ! The beet salad with citrus salsa was outstanding, but the green salad, although fresh, had a too tart red wine vinaigrette. We ordered the salmon medium well but the middle was still raw which we returned for more cooking. Upon its return they had provided us with more greens which was appreciated. It was good but lacked size and spices. We choose a chocolate torte for desert which was delicious as was the cream and berries which accompanied it. This is an historic building beautifully decorated with very good food and service.

This was once adorable, with the garden in the back, and bar room feel inside, some how, the food is not at all as good as it once was. My tuna was awful and not of great quality, the seaweed was dried out, and fresh ginger tasted like it was left over from last week. My husband clam chowder was watery..We had to ask for bread, even the olive oil tasted poorley..Service was very slow..The help was nice..The bathroom was clean.I doubt I will rush back.Hi there. I am disappointed to hear this feedback. Please know that this is not the norm for our restaurant, and is not the standard we hold ourselves to. We want all of our guests to have a great and positive all around experience with us, and knowing this was not the case for your visit is saddening. We hope that you visit us again in the future.

Shortly after we sat down the chaos began which was due to a waiter who had a an inappropriately high opinion of himself. The drinks and bread were poorly managed.FOUND PIECES OF THE TIN CHEESE WRAPPER IN THE SALAD!The waiter must have come to his senses after causing a scene which didnât sit well with me. He offered dessert on the house. After we consumed the dessert he said one dessert was on the house. Bait and switch,to add insult to injury.I called the owner later in the day to report the incident, he offered a complimentary bottle of rose upon my next visit. In addition to apologies he said what many restauranteurs say, â good help is hard to findâ to which I say â not my problemâWhat makes him think I would return?
