Had to over night in Roatan and stayed nearby. Stopped by Herbyâs for a quick lunch and the place looks like a nice sports bar. I was by myself so I sat at the bar where there were 3 or for bartenders or waitress standing around. Not only was I not greeted at all but felt like I interrupted there social gathering. Iâm in the hospitality industry and the manager should fire the entire staff. If your reading this April 30th at 1 pm. I ordered a craft beer and it was good. The burger I ordered was actually very good and very well cooked. The manager I assume di actually made a little conversation after messing with her phone for thirty minutes behind the bar. No wonder the employees are so bad. I paid with a credit card and they wanted my passport number with it. Also be aware that they charge a 10% service charge even for one person. Again no wonder the service is so bad. So if you want some good food and donât care about how you are treated I guess it is a good place to go.

Stopped in here for a drinks and a snack. Doug and Linda at the bar took great care of us. The monkey lala was cold and very delicious. Ceviche was the best weâve ever had (tried 6 different places on this vacation). My mouth is watering thinking about it. Want to back right now.

Marcos made our stay and visit to the bar the reason we returned. There are a lot of bars and restaurants on the beach but Marcos is here at the Thirsty Turtle ,as are other friendly bartenders, who treat you kindly and serve you good bar food. The food itself is mostly fried but the breakfasts are great and they have 2x1 drinks daily served with a smile! Hello buza831,Thanks for leaving us such a wonderful review, I'm sure Marcos will be pleased to read your kind comments! It's no surprise that our staff was one of your main reasons for returning to the Thirsty Turtle, they really love what they do leaving a great impression on many guests. Eclectic beach bar with great food, drinks, and sunsets where the locals hang out. Hard to find but worth it.
Once you meet Tita, you'll be back to the Pink Seahorse Bar a lot. And, she'll remember you. There is no way to describe the bar, there are seahorses, pictures, bobbles, bangles and t-shirts and flags from everywhere in the world, things you don't even know what they are, etc., etc., hanging from the palapa roof. All I can say is you have to go to Tita's but hurry because a new owner is challenging her to move a few feet up the beach and it's sure to change. However, Tita will still be Tita and you've just got to meet her. Also, she's a great cook and you can pretty much order whatever you want, including a whole fish dinner that is memorable, but sometimes you have to order it ahead of time because everything is fresh.

Sundowners built a second floor since we have been there last. This is an excellent improvement! Great place to catch the sunset, have a beer and the food is good too. Prices are reasonable. Beer is priced right:-) A must go.

We were very impressed with the service. We were immediately approached and walked through the menue. The server seemed to be very proud of working there. They gave to taste tequilla. When our kid needed a larger napkin, they quickly provided it. The plentiful food was served quickly, and it was very tasty - our kid left an empty plate.

The lobster was suggested and did not disappoint. Right on the water the sunset was gorgeous. Hubby had bbq and was good, considering we are midwestern people who love good bbq, this was not bad for an island. Will be returning.

I might as well join the other thousands of travelers who have reported on this place! It is everything that the reviews rave about . We are here for ten days and have visited once and tried again today but they were closed. The food is simple but delicious and very abundant. Chicken is moist and tender, rice and beans are beautiful and the potato salad is pretty good also. BUT save room for the homemade desserts. Remember that the chicken is a large order and save room for the sweets! If you love cats, you will have ample opportunities to love on the house cats. The parrots are a little protective of their space but beautiful to look at also. We will return before our trip ends.
