Bruch was very nice, we are outside on the deck, if you stood up you could see the Mississippi River. We opted for the Sunday Brunch. The food was hot and fresh. It was restocked often. The restaurant started to get busy as we left and the brunch staff kept up with demand. The omelette station was very good and the chef was very personable. Items included, eggs, waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, deserts, ham and omlettes. The hostess was wonderful and even brought us salsa when we requested it and the Waitress was also very good. Price at first seemed a bit high but the quality was worth it, Much rather pay a bit more than eat food that was mangled by others and never replentishedGood Morning Yoshi - we appreciate the detailed feedback! We made reservations at the Port and it was our first time dining there. The ambiance is wonderful and easy to have a conversation with your dining partner(s). The wine list is good and the service was excellent. My wife had a salad as an entree and I had the scallop dish. It was truly some of the best and most elegantly prepared seafood on which I have ever dined. Exemplary, and beautifully presented. It is a perfect place for a special occasion. We will definitely dine here again. Our compliments!Thank you for the warm review friend! I'm happy to read about your phenomenal experience. The chefs in The Port are truly amazing and prepare the best for guests. The service is great as well. We appreciate you sharing your experience. Happy dining, Celina

Stopped here for lunch upon the recommendation of a local and I'm glad we did. It's located downtown and has a small, but excellent lunch menu. I started my weekday day drinking with a Zombi Cider, upon the recommendation of our server. The $10 drink was excellent and was large. They have a huge selection of beers.I ordered the pesto burger that was done perfectly and it came with a side of rosemary potatoes. My companion had a turkey ovocado sandwich, which she enjoyed. The place is later dark for daytime dining, but if you up front by the window you can solve that problem. My only beef was a credit card surcharge of 3 1/2%. I think it's silly and out of date. It's not a huge deal, but it annoyed me.I would definitely eat here again.

We are very familiar with the St. James Hotel and have eaten at The Veranda numerous times, but had not been to Jimmy's Pub in many years, and then..not for food. Our friends suggested it and we were quick to agree. The ambiance is hard to beat, unless you are going to go to Europe to see this type of woodworking craftsmanship, along with stained glass window insets. The food menu is limited but very good. My hamburger (w/fries) was one of the best I have have ever had..and must have been an 8 oz. patty, (with lettuce, tomato, onions, bacon and a great bun). My wife enjoyed her fish plate (broiled) but felt the portion of fish was a small,...even though she is a light eater. We shared a salad which was excellent. Shelby, our server..was an absolute delight..and is a great ambassador for the Pub and St. James. She is friendly, fun..and efficient...and I should add patient with seniors like us. I rarely consume alcohol while dining out... but did have a great vodka martini (served in a large birdbath style martini glass. My only comment is that this is the first time I have ever had a $1.50 up charge for blue cheese olives, which I feel is inconsistent with a first-class operation. Having said this..$8.50 (total charge) for a non-call brand martini is very reasonable. It was a delightful evening, and we can't wait to return...especially if Shelby is our server.Hi traveler - thank you so much for the review! We appreciate the feedback and compliments. We are very lucky to have wonderful staff. Come again soon! Best, Celina

Red Wing Brewery

This has been on my list for a while. It has always looked busy when we drove by (usually on our way to Kelly's where we've had very good pizza in the past and a huge beer selection that my husband enjoys, and almost a good river view - oddly hard to find in this river town). The pictures I've seen of the pizza here looked fabulous and the reviews are glowing. Anyway, went for lunch and it wasn't too busy. It's very nice to go to a brewery that has a little more than just beer. Some wine selections. Also, a few "mixed" beer drinks such as shandys and "visiting" beers, too, aside from their own. All that is good. We ordered a pizza. Took a while which surprised me considering how unbusy it was. When the pizza came it looked tantalizing - no skimping on the toppings! It was loaded. Unfortunately it was loaded with FROZEN blue cheese. In an odd moment we had to justify that we did not want frozen blue cheese and were not going to wait for it to melt or warm up on our pizza (which I don't think would have happened). It was brought back to us with the cheese nicely melted and we were ready to dig in. I tried, I really did, but I finally had to admit that the crust is doughy. Not thin crust, not thick crust. Maybe just under baked or not made thin enough to begin with. I peeled off the topping to see mushy, raw-appearing, white dough. I understand some don't mind this; may even like this, but to me it's gross and completely unappetizing. I had to peel off my toppings and put the crust upside down to not see the gloppy mess. My husband thought it was, "ok" but not great and called this a one-time place to try. To me, it became a one-time miss. I left hungry. I usually like to gnaw on the chewy, kind of tough crust but it was just past doughy as well. Overall, not a well done crust in the least. Staff was pleasant aside from having to justify that serving frozen blue cheese was not acceptable and the drinks were good enough. The inside is nice but small. The location isn't great. They have nice big windows but they look out on a street with some boring businesses - no great views of this river town. I wouldn't bother trying to sit by the window. There aren't even people to watch. I'd return to Kelly's first or even Savoy pizza for much better pizza in RW.I (the owner) was one of your servers, so I’m going to respond by sharing a little secret about the customer service industry. Almost all of the customers that you meet are wonderful, which lends to an enjoyable experience for them, the customers, and for you, the server. On rare occasions, though, you encounter customers where - after interacting with them for a bit - you really wish they had chosen somewhere else to patronize. But there they are, and there you are, and so you make the best of it by acting professionally, treating them courteously, making yourself a strong cup of coffee, and rolling with it. Then, once they finally leave, you clean up their mess, you take a long sip of your strong coffee, you breathe a sigh of relief that they’re gone, and you move on with your day - which tends to be so much better afterwards. Again, there are not many of them, but those kinds of customers do exist. Have you made the connection as to why this is my response to you?
