a nice "home town" small restaurant run by a local who everyone knows. It's a great place for breakfast or lunch. prices are low and food quality is high. a couple miles south of portage on highway 51. Clark might even buy you a cup of coffee, he's been known to do that many times. bob viking, portage

Based on reviews, we decided to meet for lunch in Portage as a half way point between cities. We are so glad we did! Besides having seating at the bar, they have a room filled with comfortable furniture and large screen TVs that provide the perfect environment for conversation and for watching a Badgers basketball game. The food choices were far more than we imagined. I enjoyed a philly cheesesteak with a side of deep fried pickles. Order the deep fried pickles! They are planks, not slices, fried in a crisp, light, tasty batter and served with dipping sauce. My friend had the chicken ranch wrap with fries, which she loved. Also, kudos to the incredibly helpful and friendly waitress! Do not be deterred by the outside as a "hole in the wall" mentioned by one reviewer - step inside and give the place a try.

*We are a family owned restaurant with home-style cooking. You can't beat our breakfast anywhere in choices or value. Stop in for daily specials from Skillets and omelets to country fried steak and eggs, home-made meatloaf and lasagna to Friday night fish
This is my go to place. I can find what I want to eat anytime of the day. Portions are large and the food is great! The place won't break the bank either.

Suzy's opened recently. It was located at the Portage Country Club but an old restaurant opened up and they moved into it. The menu has changed for the better as well as the atmosphere
We dined here during our ski vacation to Cascade. The place is cute and clean. The service was very good. My husband's steak was good. I ordered the salmon. It really had too much bearnaise sauce on it, but it was cooked perfectly. I would ask for less sauce or on the side next time. If I was in the area again, I'd return. It's a nice family owned restaurant that has earned our support.

Hungry for pizza, but your freind just wants a salad, and grandma is up for chicken? Pizza Ranch has it all! The pizza is wonderful -- I love the chicken bacon ranch with double cheese, and the chicken tortilla soup is incredible. The salad bar is vast -- everything from olives to cottage cheese, puddings and fresh greens and a choice of dressings. Never have enjoyed any better fried chicken. Can't miss a good meal if you are at Pizza Ranch, because you serve yourself what you want and how much you want.

Free on-site parking; dated interior; daily specials. Extensive menu that goes beyond what's necessary and makes us wonder how much is just frozen food that is microwaved. Friendly servers but not always paying attention to details and often seem rushed even when there are few diners. During our visit, we observed most diners were over-50/elderly. We like to patronize locally-operated restaurants instead of franchises, but there is virtually no consideration here with no specific offerings for vegans/vegetarians beyond iceberg lettuce salads (must request removing meat products from those items on the menu, grilled cheese sandwich, etc.) thus losing a good and growing number of diners. Would it be too hard to simply add black-bean - or other vegan - burgers as a tasty substitute on the burger menu; more nutritious vegetables on salds? Disappointed but hoping that, in this small Wisconsin city, with few good, local dining options, they could do better and, at the same time, increase their customer base.

Nice place, good omelets and breakfast/lunch items. Perhaps I am naïve though expecting some sort of coffee from "café" ("café" is French for Coffee), but the only coffee at small-town restaurants (which is what this place basically is) is something that I don't consider drinkable. I am not trying to discourage anyone from stopping by here though - like I said, nice place to have breakfast/lunch when in town, even if looking at bit old/worn.

We met some friends here since it was a halfway point for all of us. Having never been here before, I wondered if it would be any good since the decor is a little outdated and it's kind of a dark bar. But as we got settled into a room near the back, we watched the place fill up with people, we knew the food had to be good. We were not disappointed. We had pizza and the guys had the special of the day - a steak sandwich, which they said was great. Would stop back here again.

We have found another favorite place for Friday night fish. We are 6 month seasonals at Lake Delton & always looking for a different Supper Club. We were pleasantly surprised. Very nice fresh salad bar. Only thing negative was that the Corn Fritters weren't very hot. Beer Battered Cod, Perch, Beer Battered Cod & Chicken & Baked Cod were our choices. For sides three had Hash Browns, one French Fries, & I had the Baby Reds which were cooked perfectly. Everyone was pleased with their entrees. First impression excellent with Brian the bartender who mixes a darn good cocktail & continued with efficient, friendly service from Lisa. A busy place is always a good sign. We had about one half hour wait is all. We will definately be back. It is well worth the drive away from the busyness Dells area.

Located in the country in a very peaceful setting. Family owned and operated with quality and service that you will love.
The shrimp were smaller than expected for the price. The scampi were rubbery and overcooked . The deep fried were OK. Didn't care for the stuffed. The waitress was excellent. Our friends had the senior fish baked and the pieces are pretty small. The drinks (Old Fashions ) were very good and a good price. Would prefer to just go for drinks and an appetizer. Food quality hasn't been consistent . Bar staff is awesome but very crowded at times.
