After attending the Delta County Fair,we stopped at Zack's on a Sunday morning. We must have hit it just right because there was no waiting, others who came later had to wait awhile. At any rate the food was very good, while there seemed to be a lot of confusion regarding the waitress's. I may stop again to try the BBQ.
Organic breakfast and lunch!
Indifferent counter service, food prep about the same

Delicious Orchards is a gem of the North Fork Valley. We are the home of Big B's Juice, Hard Cider, and Raw Vinegar. We offer free cider tastings as well as local wines. Our cafe has a wide range of delicious, wholesome food with the kitchen opening at 11
This place has good and bad. It reminds me of a hippie restaurant and food store from the 70âs. Often lots of flies, lackadaisical service, hard to read menu on the wall and strange menu selections. They say they are vegetarian friendly, but sandwiches were almost all meat. The usual veggie burger for example, plus some salads and a veggie burrito.I had a veggie burrito and it was sort of ok and there was lots of it. The next morning I had food poisoning and it got worse by late morning. I couldnât eat until late in the evening and had hours of rapid trips to the toilet for dry heaves. This was the only food I had that my wife didnât have all day and could be the only suspect. My guess is the veggie chili that the burrito was loaded with had spoiled because it wasnât ordered too often and they make too much of it at once. The countyâs health department does not enforce things, so Delta County is not always a safe place to eat. This is a funky place with pretty good apple cider and veggies for sale. They are involved in the community. My wife liked her pork burger and fries, but she didnât get sick. But I have been there many times when visiting friends in the area and never cared for the food. It does not seem to be too clean and in some respects reminds me of Boulderâs Carnival Cafe back in the â70âs where the staff was so stoned it took two or three times as long to get anything. Prices are high for what they serve. They try to be a community resource, but got to look to themselves when it comes to running a restaurant. The North Fork Valley is not known for good restaurants, so bring food or keep driving.
We stopped here for lunch while visiting Paonia. There weren't a lot of restaurants open that day as it was Independence Day. I had the brioche french toast which was awesome. Service was fast and attentive. Not a lot of seating, so it can get crowded. It was too hot to sit outside that day as well. Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast served all day (til 2:30 when they close)

OK, service wasn't great, but I was with friends, so who cares. They serve a fried catfish that was fantastic, not oily. Serving size was huge. The food was so good a group of us returned the next night. I'll go back.

I remember being here before with friends and liking it. This time we stop for a quick lunch and it takes forever, even thought there is only one other table occupied. All the cool 50s decoration has disappeared from the walls, they stare at you white and barren, worse than a hospital. Cheap, yeah, but who wants to eat in a desert. We are not going back.

Organic Farm to Table dining, showcasing our "Local Organic Farmers and Vintners". Gluten free and vegetarian options available. Serving breakfast and dinner in a comfortable relaxed setting, indoors or outsideon the tree-shaded deck. Local produce, meats
Located at the end of Paoniaâs picturesque three block long downtown main drag, this place features a nice deck as well as intimate seating inside an older house. We chose the latter. The green chili with pork was remarkable. The fried green tomatoes were unique. We were told that they pickle them before breading and frying. My patty melt was a large juicy patty with nicely fried onions, though the marbled rye was a bit dry and hard like it was more baked than grilled. Service was very good though it was a bit of a battle to get the quantity of ketchup I wanted.
