This place has a good selection of burgers and sandwiches. The fries are delicious, even as they get cold. The service was exactly what you would expect at a pricey tourist attraction, but the view around the place was great.

Staff here were friendly and efficient. Food was decent. Avocado and toast was nice although I feel something more healthy than fries would go nicely with it. The veg appetizer was nice although a little too much fried food. The fruityIPA beer was awesome. Overall very nice

Really hearty and tasty food. Exactly what you need after a long day in the mountain. I had a vegetarian pasta that was so yummy and so generous that i almost died of happiness! Second time there, Iâve mixed the kids mac and cheese with a grilled cauliflower and the result was perfection. Last day a french onion soup which was a dream come true. Every meal was fantastic and the servers were kind and quick. Go and enjoy! You wonât regret it.

PlumpJack Cafe and Bar has two inviting spaces that each boast unique California cuisine, artisan cocktails and a vast wine list. PlumpJack Cafeâs elevated dining room offers an intimate setting, refined service and upscale menu that is fit for a special
Plumpjack Cafe has a corner on the market as essentially the only purported fine dining in Olympic/Squaw Valley. We ate there on a busy Saturday night because the menu listed several eccentric and attractive items namely quail, rib eye steak and red pepper bisque. Well, the quail legs are deep fried making them no different than chicken and flavorless (yes, like KFC, but not as good). Strike one. The red pepper bisque tasted no different than a can of soup from Trader Joe's, except that the serving size was smaller than what would come from a can. Strike two. And the rib eye, ordered medium rare, was cooked rare minus, minus, minus, i.e., not even warm in the middle and super chewy (gross in your mouth chewy). Strike three. So you might be thinking, if it was so bad, why didn't you send it back? BECAUSE IT TOOK SO LONG TO GET THE FOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE, I WOULD HAVE STARVED TO DEATH WAITING! I was not surprised about the cost, ~$100/person with alcohol. The cocktails were great and the wine was palatable. The service is also exceptional (except for the hostess who was less than friendly). Our server was informed, professional and friendly. The restaurant itself is dark and romantic. BUT it's the only place for everyone to go so expect to be seated near groups and families, as well as "vacation couples" (i.e., drinking heavily, nothing to talk about, don't really want to talk to each other anyway). The restaurant is not perfect, however, and shows signs of heavy wear that you would find at any restaurant at the base of a ski area, but might not expect at these prices.I had been to the bar many times and this was my first experience eating in the dining room. Frankly, I was shocked at the choice of food preparation and how ill prepared the items ultimately were. Dining at the Plumpjack felt like dining at a fine restaurant where the chef was fired just before I walked in. I won't go back.Dear DannyK_LANY,Thank you for your review. Located inside the Resort at Squaw Creek, Sandy's Pub has an upscale bar (complete with huge TVs playing sports) but cozy feel that's not too loud for conversation. Very friendly service (Jennifer was great!) and no wait on a Friday at 5:30 - it did get busy by 7:00 pm, though. We ordered sweet potato fries for the table and received a very generous basket with the best-tasting fries ever. Seriously! Big slices, not shoestring thin. Everyone had burgers that were massive stacks of onion rings, burger, condiments and buns that had to be eaten with a knife and fork to start. Definitely worth a return visit!

The Auld Dubliner Irish Pub was created to bring the spirit of a traditional Irish pub to the beautiful Sierra Mountains of California. With its dark wooden floors and authentic decor, the Auld Dubliner has the feel of a village pub in rural Ireland. It b
The service is consistently so so so slow. However, the food and the atmosphere are worth the wait (if you have time).Hi Michelle - Thanks for taking your time to leave us a review. We believe the food is worth the wait and our busy staff works hard to deliver exceptional customer service. What's the rush? It's summertime in Lake Tahoe! Thanks for visiting The Auld Dubliner and please come back again soon on a quiet day in The Village at Squaw Valley.

Food is always good and consistent. Prices are slightly lower than other nice restaurants in the area. Graham is always friendly and on top of things. Lizzie is a friendly and efficient waitress. Reservations recommended. Filet Mignon is excellent. Salads are fresh, wine list is extensive and fairly priced.

My wife had the small filet, I had the larger filet, and both were excellent. The glazed carrots and squash succotash were outstaning. Great desserts as well. A little on the expensive side, but in our opinion well worth the price!!!

Cottonwood provides rustic elegance in a historic setting and has been a fixture of Truckee's vibrant dining scene for 30 years. Housed in a historical ski lodge constructed in 1928 to serve as a warming hut for the town of Truckee's ski and toboggan hill
Dined at Cottonwood Restaurant on June 20, 2019. It was for dinner and my comments/ratings are as follows:1. Although drinks/cocktails are served from the same bar, we were told that they will only serve happy hour drinks if we are seated indoors. Due to the warm weather, we opted to seat outdoors.2. Ordered Crab Cakes, Meatballs and Green Salad for starters. The Crab Cakes did not have much crabs (mostly fillers), Meatballs also did not have much meat in it (also mostly fillers) and the Salad was wilted and over-dressed.3. Next we ordered Chicken Wings but the ready made Chicken Wings from Costco is so much more tastier and better than what they serve.4. Cost of a glass of mediocre white wine is $12.00.Everything they have on the menu are overpriced and didnât satisfy any of us. If you are in Truckee and looking for a good restaurant, donât even consider Cottonwood Restaurant. It was a big disappointment. I give it 1-star out of 5-star. The only thing good about the restaurant is the location with a view.We are disappointed that we did not provide a satisfactory experience for you, Virgilio. On your first point, our happy hour is a promotion for the bar only. However, there is outdoor seating off the end of the bar that we refer to as Area 51. It's not as grand as eating on the main deck that was voted best outdoor dining in North Tahoe by the 2019 readers of Tahoe Quarterly, but the locals like to hang out there. I'm surprised at your comments on the crab cakes and meatballs. When the crab cakes rolled out last week, they were in high demand, even from our staff, who eat well. We will check our process for consistency. And the meatballs are house made from trimmings off the house cut steaks. On the wines, we willingly provide a tasting before purchase to ensure it meets the customers' satisfaction. As of today, our last three reviews on Google were 5-stars, but since we did not satisfy your group, we will try harder.
