Spent the night in Southfield, MI. and needed breakfast so googled breakfast restaurants. Original Pancake House showed up on the list and was close by. It was 12:30pm so they were still busy but we were seated within a few minutes. Waitress was very pleasant and took our order for coffee while we looked over the menu. We had a simple breakfast of pancakes, eggs bacon and coffee but it was very well prepared and all the staff was very pleasant and thanked us for coming even though they were very busy. i found it unusual that they close at 4pm weekdays so don't wait till late in the day.

We met another couple here for breakfast. We have never been here before but were greatly impressed! The place was crowded but we got a table. The wait staff was attentive. The ambience was elegant. The food was a pleasant fusion of many cultures. A lot of seafood. Everyone liked the eggs, French toast, and pancakes. The only drawback was the noise level. High ceilings and all. Highly recommended!

Nice restaurant, it has two areas, one which is self order and cafeteria style. The other section is a full service restaurant with a full bar. The wait staff was very attentive, courteous and aimed to please! Our waiter was great and made our night enjoyable! The food was delicious, My husband and I split the spaghetti and meat balls. Delicious but the meat balls are quite spicy! One friend ordered a personal pizza and said it was outstanding. Another ordered the salmon sandwich which came with potato chips, the salmon was perfectly cooked. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re in Berkeley, Michigan.

I really want to love this place because I can see the care the owners put into it. I love that they make their own jam and condiments and bread, you can really feel the effort that goes into these dishes, in a good way.My problem (and I hardly EVER complain about service or leave bad reviews) is that I literally got the worst service here that I've ever gotten in a restaurant. My partner and I went for brunch and the waiter sat us and brought our menus. He came back literally less than one minute later to ask what we wanted. We didn't know yet, we needed a minute and this guy full-on rolled his eyes (a big, theatrical roll, not just a slight whiff of attitude) and walked away. Then, again less than a minute later, he comes back again. The menu said there were specials but didn't specify so we asked what the specials were and he said "They're on the board." I glanced around and said I can't see the board from here and he replied "Yea, well then neither can I, can I?" Like, dripping sarcasm. I don't know WHAT we did to make this guy so mad. When I got up to look at the board there was like three simple specials, so I know he knew them. He was a total jerk like this through the whole meal. I mean, a real jerk, for no reason. Only time in my LIFE that I didn't leave a tip. I do feel like their menu could use a little updating. It's eclectic style, but in a really dated 1990's kind of way. Like a lot of things that were trendy twenty years ago...think balsamic, chipotle, carmelized onions, pesto, etc.All that said, I'd still recommend giving the place a try. The food is well executed, and it's cute in a retro way. Like I said, I WANT to like it.

My wife and i stopped in before a concert. We had the town tavern burger, shirt rib tacos and chile grilled brussel sprouts. The burger was terrific, tacos were good and the brussel sprouts were outstanding. Nice beer selection. We had 3 beers and a coffee all which totalled just over $50. The service was a true highlight. The host, the waitress, the bussers and the management were very friendly, efficient, and helpfully. I would come back just for the service alone

How long can you exactly coast on your past success? I have been to the bistro multiple times and every single time the quality of food and service has been lowered and lowered while menu prices have increased. Menu has not really changed except the ingredients have been replaced with lower priced item, Hanger steak with strip steak etc. Service is not bad but also not what it was. I like the look of the place and the location but find ourselves not going to this bistro as often. I think we are really tired of their same old menu and the inconsistent execution. If you have one steak or one bread on the menu you should be able to do it well and consistent. Bread, appetizers and main course were all very disappointing but for now wine is still good. Please introduce some new items that you can execute well and work on the servers knowledge.

This is somewhat of a 'trendy' place in Royal Oak. It was crowed when we arrived for a relatively early dinner but no problem getting a table. Service was pretty prompt as well considering the crowd. Pleasant and friendly waitress. GREAT menu with some unusual unique items: I had the duck burger which was fantastic!Atmosphere was unique and interesting: building was a working garage, ie for fixing cars. The only reason I can't rate the place a '5' is the noise level was deafening. Playing music at high volume, it was really impossible to converse with my family. If you don't care for conversation, this is a perfect place!
