Although this off the main road, on the water restaurant was exceptionally clean, the food has no taste. We both ordered butterfly shrimp, cod fillets, onion rings, Cole slaw & it came with chowder & hush puppies....the chowder was delicious, just the right temp & full of veggies, but all the other fried food had no taste...supposed to be beer battered, but no taste at all.....excellent view, our waiter was very good, we were seated almost immediately.....but I doubt if weâll return for a meal again....just no flavor..

My husband and I have ate there a few times and again today. Very good food and inexpensive. It is nothing fancy and yes my green beans came out of a can but my hamburger steak was very good and mashed potatoes good. My husband had the baked pasta. He was impressed with the taste and the pasta was cooked perfectly. When you can get 2 meals for less than $16 you canât complain They also have a wonderful selection of homemade desserts

Since there are just a few restaurants in Oak Hill, it's nice when a new one comes to town, even better when they have great home cooked food, they even make their own bread! Service was great- Lynn our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the food and very complimentary about her boss, the lady that owned the place. Apparently they have won a few awards for their home cooking. She recommended the deserts, which are also homemade, and looked delish. I had the stuffed peppers, my husband had the pot roast. Everything was really good, warning, though- the portions are HUGE. We are going to do a repeat for dinner!

While I still love the concept - cold beer, seafood prepared to order, docks on the river - the chinks in the armour are showing. While you can make some excuses, it is a "fish camp", the last several visits have not been up to par. Food can be inconsistent, between visits and in the same meal. Our last time at JB's, the ala- carte soft shell crab ordered as an appetizer was delicious and properly fried. The one on the entre' sandwich was over fried. French fries were crisp and delicious. The onion rings were over fried in what tasted like tired oil. My blackened Mahi sandwich needed more sear for a proper blackening. Still enjoy hanging out, but JB's needs to up their game on the food preparation.I am sorry to hear about your poor experience while dining with us. We are constantly working on improving our consistency with our food. Can you please send me an email at [email protected] with the date and time of your order? I would like to look into this further so we can ensure constant quality and taste with each meal. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review as it helps us understand what we need to improve. I hope you will try us again in the future so we can provide you with a better experience.

We are a family stye restaurant, owner owned and operated, that serves the freshest seafood available and our choice steaks and prime-rib are hand cut. We strive to offer quality with value.
Met the owner and she was very friendly and helpful. She became our waitress and bartender. Excellent drinks with decent beer selection. The place is very casual dress and quite laid back. No pretense here. Rock shrimp was outstanding! Catfish platter was good and our party of six all thought the food was worth coming back for.
