I love this restaurant and I have eaten here multiple times when I am in town! But... this past visit the hostess was EXTREMELY rude. She ignored me and other customers as well. She did not even greet customers, she just said âhow many.â She also told the other hostess to quit serving other people in front of other customers. I did not catch her name unfortunately. But I expressed the concern to our sweet waitress who mentioned that they have gotten other complaints about the same hostess. I know the restaurant is short on staff and they have to keep her so she can basically act as rude as she wants. So unfortunate, because the food is great and the waitresses are so hard working and kind. If I was not a regular here my impression of the restaurant would be awful and I would probably never visit again just from the disrespect the hostess displayed. I will visit again but hopefully the hostess will be gone!! We're sorry your experience was so disappointing. Inattentive service is an unpleasant situation and certainly not what you should expect in our cafe. We understand the frustration and will address your issue with our team to prevent it from happening in the future.

This was my first visit to The Blue Plate, as I was from out of town. I noticed how every time I passed the restaurant the parking lot was crowded, so I decided to try it.We have a couple of "country buffets" in our town but I really enjoyed the sit-down, table service. The restaurant definitely has a diner feel and the booths were comfortable. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. The selection of foods was outstanding. There were so many vegetables to choose from! I had the fried chicken livers, creamed corn, green beans, purple hulled peas and cornbread. Every item I had was hot and delicious.I will be certain to make this a regular stop on my visits to the Tuscaloosa / Northport area!

There's a good reason Five Bar is a top restaurant in T-Town....the food, the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere. It's everything you could possibly want from a bar / restaurant in a university town. The special drinks were with fresh muddled strawberries, not cheap strawberry flavor. The other special drinks were fresh and really good. I don't normally order special drinks because I find them mostly disappointing, but these were really good, and I will order them again. The service was outstanding....obviously students intent on making a good impression for the U of A, as they did.

We stopped in for lunch with our daughter while visiting. We had decent service and the food was good. Glad they had a veggie burger. Beer was cold! The place is what you would expect from a college town.

The Levee opened it's doors to the public on March 2, 2015. It is locally owned and operated by Gary McGee and Chris Bradshaw. The Levee specializes in Seafood, Steaks, Oysters, and More. The Levee is Northport's only riverfront dining overlooking the Bla
Here for a conference. Elizabeth was our server and I few like we got so lucky with her. Pleasant personality, knowledgeable of the menu and very efficient. We didnât have to ask for refills or anything. I ordered the fried shrimp plate, which came with two sides (I got the Caesar salad and steamed broccoli). The Caesar salad was a side portion but looked more like a step down from an entree salad. It was almost a meal by itself. It was very good with plenty of cheese flakes and croutons. I received 12 big and flavorful shrimp that were fried to perfection. I had to force myself to eat them all as they also bring a plate of hush puppies and rolls prior to your food arriving. Those hush puppies were crispy and hot and worth every calorie. Being from the South, I always appreciate a good glass of sweet tea. The Levee did not disappoint at all! Whole experience was great from beginning to end. Well worth the trip and I canât wait to go back.

Look, if you want fancy dining, this isn't it. In fact if you anywhere near fine dining, this isn't it. However, if you ever want to experience true southern barbeque pit "joint", complete with cinder block walls, soot-blackened pit chimney, tattered screen front door, and most importantly some of the most make-your-tongue-drool barbeque ribs (southern style with tangy sauce), them this is your place. Served with a side order of both a combination of southern soul hospitality, mixed with I've- been-doing-this-longer-than-you've-been-alive attitude.

In town for orientation at Bama and flowed the reviews to Avenue Pub. We were not disappointed. Tasty fish and chips, lightly breaded and very tasty. Bacon burger with fries was tasty as well. Fries were nicely seasoned, not just plain.Service was good, food presented as expected for a pub; in a basket. Overall enjoyable meal and lively pub atmosphere. Prices were reasonable for the quality and tatse.

Our award winning restaurants are known for local Gulf oysters and variety of Gulf Coast seafood with a New Orleans flare. The New Orleans influence extends throughout our menu featuring steaks, chicken, pasta and so much more. The ambiance has a French Q
My fiance and I ate dinner there this afternoon and our experience was amazing! Kaitlyn, our server was exceptional. She's extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely be back soon! And we will always ask for Kaitlyn to be our server. The food was incredible. We had the Royal Reds and the Redfish. The sweet potato cream burle was awesome. Also had the bloody marys with a oyster in the bottom of the glass! Everything was great. Kaitlyn was the best part of our experience. We are looking forward to returning to Halfshell very soon.
A Rooftop Bar in Tuscaloosa with Stunning Views. The Lookout is a bar unlike any other in Tuscaloosa, AL. It stands as the only rooftop bar in the city, with indoor and outdoor seating, overlooking the majestic Black Warrior River. Thirsty patrons looking
Tuscaloosa, AL is a wonderful large small southern city (or alternately a small large southern town), with a distinct college town flavor. It is blessed with lots of natural beauty including the foliage (it's called the Druid City because of all of the oak trees) and a great river view. Unfortunately not many of the local restaurants or bars take advantage of this view. The Lookout is almost ther only one that does. Located atop the Indigo Hotel (reviewed previously separately) it offers the absolutely best views of the river, bridges and sunset in Tuscaloosa. For that it is without equal. Unfortunately the food and drinks the Lookout are, at best, just average. The food tastes ok, but it is barely more than pub food and certainly not really anything I would recommend for a full meal. It is also WAY overpriced (at least for ther quality and quantity of food you receive). I absolutely hate that fact. I SO want this place to succeed. With the view and potential it has it could be as GREAT place. Unfortunately, the execution leaves a lot lacking. In full disclosure, it probably is more like a 3.5, but forced to choose, I would rather rate it a 3 in hopes that they will step up their game.
