Do NOT say anything. I would guess that meat and wings and salads are good. Don't order grouper fingers. They are NOT grouper and the manager doesn't care that you don't like it. I tried 2 pieces and my date tried 1 pc. The manager said we ate all of it and would not take it off the check even though I asked to replace it with a more expensive fish.(yes we were fine to pay a higher price. we did not ask for a free replacement. There were no apologies at all. He said "it still cost us money when you send it back". period. You decide.

Drove downtown to The Standard. Was told there was music and guys dressed in drag. There was neither. Most of my family had cheeseburgers. I had the prime rib. The cheeseburgers everyone claimed was excellent. I had the prime rib. It was very tough and fatty. Did not enjoy. Since it is a split decision I'll say try it out. Rating...fair.

My husband and I stopped here for a later dinner, after 9 pm. We had had many things to take care of that day and only then could we eat. The restaurant, although very quiet, was still seating people. The bar in the center was still quite busy, and I noted everyone was drinking beer. Our greeting was friendly but we were shown to a table very close to other people. We wanted to talk business and asked for a booth a little further away (and actually close to the kitchen). We were seated with our menus. It took maybe 5 minutes and we had water. Another 10 minutes and we had a server come to our table which was good as we had been sitting waiting. I ordered a Gin & Tonic, Bombay Sapphire to start, my husband a Jack & Ginger. It only took a couple of minutes and we had our drinks. The tonic water was almost flat in my drink and syrupy. We decided our next drinks would definitely be something else.We put in our order: a Mushroom & Swiss Burger (âJoe Mauerâ) with potato wedges (to split), and a Mac ân Cheese. We were told that if they cut the burger in half in the kitchen it would be a health code violation (???), but that if we cut it in half, they werenât involved. We said fine, bring us a sharp knife and an extra plate please. We finished our drinks and waited quite awhile to flag down our server for another round, but this time a beer for my husband (a local brew), and a straight-up Manhattan for me. About 10 more minutes and our drinks were delivered but mine was on the rocks. NOPE. I sent it back before it got off of the tray. And we still didnât have our food. The server checked her ticket in front of us and made sure to loudly blame the bartender; he looked embarrassed and said âMy bad.â I felt sorry for him.Throughout the evening we observed our server standing at the front of the restaurant talking to two women at a table there. Finally got my Manhattan, without Luxardo cherries. I asked the server if they had any (this is the normal way a Manhattan is served). Nope. No cherries at the bar, not even maraschinos. Now that surprised me. I let it go.Finally we got our food. It took a surprisingly long time, considering there was only 1 other table in the restaurant where people were eating. Everybody else was drinking. The burger was room temperature; the potato wedges were cold and starchy. The mac and cheese was warm and had good flavor. This place better get it together before the Season starts. We were seriously unimpressed.Thank you for taking the time to rate and review us, CaptTrouble. My husband and I love this place for breakfast or lunch. (We hear they serve dinner Wednesdays through Saturdays, too, but we have yet to try it.)My husband loves the âbatters upâ breakfast with two large, thin pancakes, and I like the special, the waffles, or the McOasis breakfast sandwich. I also love their tuna salad sandwich, which I have garnished with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and jalapeños! (Yum.)The staff and owners are friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable. Highly recommended for anyone in the Fort Myers area.

We were on a couples weekend trip and we love eating at this wonderful Non-Franchised restaurant. We have been coming to this restaurant for years and the service and food have always been wonderful. There were a couple of drawbacks on this visit. We were here on a Saturday night in late September and it was early 6:00 pm we met some friends here so there were 4 of us in our party, and we ordered oysters on the half shell and they were out. Ok, so we ordered the calamari. It was served not hot but it wasn't bad. The other couple ordered cheese sticks and onion rings. We then ordered our dinners. The restaurant wasn't that busy (we have been here when it has been a lot busier) we think something must have gone wrong in the kitchen as several other waitresses brought our food to us and not our waitress. They started by bringing the side dishes and since it wasn't our waitress they asked who had what? Then when they did bring the entrees the food was only mediocre. We have had much better food here before. Also, we had ordered adult beverages and we ordered a second round and only part of the drinks came out we had to ask again for our drinks. We will be back but the management needs to know that something went wrong. We live a couple of hours away and we do go here every couple of months or so.Thank you for taking the time and leaving your review, we appreciate your comments and feedback. We're sorry for any inconvience, we hope you come back again soon.

Nestled in the heart of historic downtown Fort Myers. The Veranda will take you away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life to a bygone era of Antebellum charm. The Veranda's romantic setting in two turn-of-the-century homes, combined with our Southern
The ambiance reminded me of Old Florida in a nicely decorated old house. You enter into the bar area with lots of wood, plenty of seating and piano player playing background music. After checking in, we were escorted to our table which overlooked the courtyard. The table location was semi-private and we liked it very much. All waiters are dressed in tuxedos and we were promptly welcomed. After drinks were taken, a fresh basket of bread was delivered. Main courses consisted of Prime Rib, Veal Piccata, and the Red Snapper special. Everyone thought each dish was very good and had good flavor. I had the Prime Rib and I thought it was tender and had ok flavor, but I really liked the rub on the outside of it. I thought that had all the flavor. Would I order it again...maybe not. Overall, very nice evening with good service and higher quality food. But at their prices, thatâs what a customer should expect. Very good wine list which I thought was reasonably priced. When I knew we were going here, I checked the dress code because pretty much, guys can wear nice shorts to most places. And since we live in the area, thatâs what Iâm use to. So their dress code says something like smart casual. So I wore slacks thinking shorts were a no go. To my surprise, since the location of our table faced where customers were lead to the dining room, I saw many men wearing what I would say were nice shorts. So next time....itâs shorts for me! Not a big deal though. If you go, you will enjoy a nice piece of Old Florida.

It is surprising some of the locals do not know of this jewel. Everyone that I tell about it and then try it become regulars. The BBQ is great and reasonably price. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. If you are looking for BBQ try this place before going to the big chain restaurants.

My husband and I went to this restaurant on a Thursday evening for supper. At first, the place was very quiet but a large group came in and the entire atmosphere changed. They were very loud and boisterous and our waitress lost all interest in serving us. Our food took about thirty minutes, even though it was early and our meal was ordered before the large group arrived. When it came, the food was mediocre and my husband's patty melt was dry and very over-cooked. My BLT had very wilted lettuce on it, the tomato was unripe and unappetizing and, overall, my husband and I agreed that we had been here twice in one trip.....first and last.

Firts time eating here and was happy with our meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Southwest Chicken Salad. Plenty big and filling. The dressing was a bit bitter and overwhelming. It was their Lime style dressing. One of my daughters had the Chicken Caesar Salad wrap and the other the Toasted Cheese. The wrap was good but the Toasted Cheese was something else. Not much cheese and what was there was hard to find.. Not what she expected and and would not order that again! My wife had the hard and cheese melt which she liked. Good meal but a number of the items needed some help. Not sure if we would return.
