Attended a wedding rehearsal donner here March 1st, and was blown away. Often such large groups suffer from harried service, food prepared a little too quickly / rushed, but that was noit our experience. FABULOUS service, superbly prepared salmon (my wife and I) and steaks (most of the other quests), everyone RAVED that this was among the best dinners experienced ANYwhere, in quite some time. Congrats to the owner, chefs/cooks, and serving staff..... this place is a GRAND SLAM of all home runs!!

We went to Homespun Foods for a late afternoon meal after visiting Dia:Beacon. I had an excellent Greek salad (although it could have used more Feta cheese) and my husband had an enormous tuna salad sandwich, also excellent. Nice portion sizes and reasonable prices. It was a beautiful day, so we enjoyed eating in the courtyard behind the cafe.

Traveling through and noticed the full parking lot. Very efficiently run - got seated quickly. Many people were greeted by the host and cashier by name and welcomed back. I noticed a local law enforcement officer stop in to order (and pay!) for his take-out dinner. The usual diversity on the menu. Good size portion - I took half my meal home. Soups are excellent! Kids menu was a full page with photos and a description of each choice.

Billy Joe's is located on the bank of the Hudson River in the middle of Newburgh's older section. The building is a large, brick, turn of the 20th century ice house that has been retrofitted with several large overhead doors, with transparent panels, that look out onto a large patio on the waterfront. The building's inside is mostly an open floor plan that could probably accommodate several thousand people on summer weekends when the building is really busy.During our visit on a cool, cloudy, October day, only about a 1/4 of the floor had customers so people were spread out. We were seated at the back, near the overhead doors and had a nice view of the ships passing by on the Hudson. We ordered the "Legend" burger, the steakhouse salad, and a mac 'n cheese with pork dish. The salad was very good, with a large portion of sliced brisket on top, and the Legend burger was huge, with sausage, brisket, pulled pork on top of a cheeseburger. The mac 'n cheese dish was also very large and very filling. Most portions would be OK for two people with moderate appetites.Service was very good, food came out quickly, and our sodas were promptly refilled. The manager even stopped by to check on us and told us about a motorcycle museum, located a couple miles away, as we commented about an old motorcycle mounted on one of the walls. All in all, it was an enjoyable lunch in a very memorable décor.

We met my brother and my sister in law for dinner in Beacon. After reading the menu on line they thought this restaurant was interesting. When you read the menu you really think it might be. We ordered two appetizers, not really made for sharing. We had the kreplach and the crab meat appetizers, neither was extraordinary. I had the pork sausage patties made in a Thai style, with lettuce wraps. It was served in a bowl, I didn't know why. It didn't really taste of Thai spice and it was just okay.. My wife had the steak and it was over done, she told the waitress but she wasn't too enthusiastic about doing anything about it. My brother and his wife had the salmon, they said it was okay. The prices are relatively high for the area and the food is just average. I think sometimes your expectations are too high for the restaurant. I don't think we will be back.

Led by Chef/Owner Michael Kelly, Liberty Street Bistro (LSB) is a contemporary American restaurant serving classic French-influenced cuisine in a modern and simple style, embracing the community, culture, and bounty of the Lower Hudson Valley.
Just tried this restaurant during restaurant week and fully intend to return after. Their regular menu is not as expensive as one would think considering the type of food and fine dining experience you get. Service is well informed, attentive without being overwhelming and efficient. The food is expertly prepared, well-seasoned and comes out piping hot. The pasta appetizer was aldente with just right pieces of duck. The risotto with mushrooms was creamy and seasoned just right. Dessert was lick the plate good. Highly recommend this unique dining experience.

Set on the Historic Hudson River, Blu Pointe is a Newburgh Waterfront Restaurant that offers something for everyone. The temperature controlled walk-in wine room holds over 3,000 new and old world wines and serves as a dramatic backdrop to our cozy lounge
When you consider all the elements that must coalesce for a meal to be great then this was a great eating experience. Firsts of all the location is superb, right on the shores of the Hudson River. Then the décor is light, elegant and very contemporary. The service was professional and spot-on; I would say it matched my European standards. And then, of course, was the food. The menu is very enticing but they have a $20 prix fix with a wonderful selection of options that really caught my attention. Had the grilled oysters, which were still sweet and moist and with a good amount of bacon, and then I had the fish of the day which was salmon. I just came back from Chile and, let me tell you, this fish was excellent in all respects. Without doubt this was a highlight meal ion the Hudson Valley area.

Many menu items and daily specials. All were very good. We went on a Sunday- the place was crowded and very noisy. Service was good. Prices were ok. Would recommend this restaurant. Avoid getting a table by the bar.

We had a party of 8 and the server did a great job. The soup, salad and dinner was GREAT. Served hot and tasty! Really was so much food at a reasonable price. Especially enjoyed the Greek orzo lemon soup, yummy. A short walk from our hotel so it was very convenient. Would highly recommend.

Great spot for lunch; we sat outside 3 of the 4 times we dined here over the last two months. Popovers are delicious; lobster bisque was excellent; double burger was huge; spinach ravioli was very good; we really enjoyed the crab cakes; chocolate pecan pie was a great way to end the meal. We had brunch 3 times; the belinis should be included with the brunch price.Service was excellent each time. Servers were always accommodated each request with a smile.Great place to have lunch while viewing the spectacular view of the Hudson River.
