We wanted a break from Japanese food but not inclined to default to McDonaldâs. Found Sakura burger near kintetsunara station following a morning trip around Nara. The place is small but very friendly and accommodating. Burger buns, bacon and fries/chips were made in-house, and western jazz music adds to the ambience. It seems family owned and they were very understanding when we had a problem with the credit card. Burgers by the way weâre juicy. Sorry, forgot to take photos. Too busy eating.

After walking all over Nara our family was looking for a restaurant where we could enjoy some comfort food. Then I notice a sign that says, "no burger - no life. Tasty charcoal burgers at Monks on the Moon." Sounded clever enough - so we tried it. Delicious Massive burgers (we were calling them Godzilla Burgers). Three of us loved our burgers and the vegetarian had a big salad. They brought a nice appetizer of mixed nuts and there was a fresh water fill-up where we filled up our water bottles. Also enjoyed the craft beer. Definitely worth a visit in Nara! Oh and don't forget that wrapper thing on the table is to hold your massive burger together (we discovered that After!).
