Murmansk (Russian: Му́рманск, IPA: [ˈmurmənsk]; Kildin Sami: Мурман ланнҍ; Northern Sami: Murmánska; Skolt Sami: Muurman) is a port city and the administrative center of Murmansk Oblast in the far northwest part of Russia. It sits on both slopes and banks of a modest ria or fjord, Kola Bay, an estuarine inlet of the Barents Sea. Its bulk is on the east bank of the inlet. It is in the north of the rounded Kola Peninsula which covers most of the Oblast (semi-autonomous region). The city is 67 miles (108 km) from the border with Norway and 113 miles (182 km) from the Finnish border. The city is named for the Murman Coast; an archaic term in Russian for Norwegian.

Amazing, nothern mexican restaurant. Most closer to authentically mexican food. Stylish interior, cozy atmosphere, lovely peaple. All weekends-live music, 30kinds of tequilas, gifts from the house.

called in yesteday and we had delicious vegetable soup (lovely and warming on a freezing day) and chicken pasta, plus fresh bread rolls and cranberry juice. They only offer menu at lunchtime, and the price is very reasonable, but the place is clean and comfortable so I will visit at other times to try different dishes. Such a pity that they offer only Russian food instead of Mexican that would go with the decor

I was surprised that Murmansk has the northern most McDonald's in the world. It is situated right next to the main railway station. Watch out for illegal currency traders lurking near the entrance. They offer to buy euros or Norwegian krowns 24/7. The restaurant itself is as typical as the rest of the chain. Nothing reminds of the extreme longitude. Just the sign near the counter tells it in Russian!
