Nice outside bar to sit and socialize on a beautiful evening. Had the crab dip with the tortilla chips and garlic bread. It was good, preferred it on the bread(of course..... the unhealthiest of the two!) Had the french onion soup as well..... salty but really good!

Rocking Rabbit unusually has a restaurant on one end and a very popular Brewery with live music Th-Sunday evenings on Highland Street in Mt Dora.My husband wakes up early enough for breakfast maybe 1-2 times a year so we made it last week.Thé menu and the prices are reasonable. Some very nice Mt Dora folks were already there.Great service, good food, and not packed. It was quite warm even though it was a beautiful day though. This is a place I would feel good about coming with my whole family, friends, grown children & grandchildren. I had a pretty standard scrambled egg, grits, bacon breakfast and wonât wait for Tom to return!Thank you!

Welcome to Pisces Rising. Located in Central Florida and established in 2003, Pisces Rising is a celebration of Florida cuisine. Lovingly wrapped around a Florida cracker bungalow style home built in the 1920's, the restaurant overlooks Lake Dora and the
good bar atmosphere on the deck. We went for an afternoon lunch but there was no dining room seating until 5 PM. ended up having drinks and appetizers on the deck. Good eats and cocktails although service was a little slow and waitstaff did not seemed very interested in getting to us when we arrived. Not sure if that is the norm but it was notable for me. I would go back but if service was not better it would be my last visit as there are lots of good restaurants in Mt. Dora.

Welcome to the Frog and Monkey Restaurant and Pub! We are located in the basement of the Renaissance Building in beautiful downtown Mount Dora, FL. With a vast beer selection and the best burger and chips in Lake County, our diverse menu and whimsical atm
We were both dying for a good burger, and the burgers and fries, regular and sweet potato were top shelf. Nice cozy and casual surroundings. Glad to get a Jai Alai on draft, excellent. Service from Stephanie was very attentive. Slight caveat, live music is nice here, but the low ceilings are not conductive to being loud. This isn't Carnegie Hall.

Entire upstairs of house on main drag in Mount Dora FL. Gigantic stairway up to this joint. Not handicap friendly. Seat yourself at this establishment. Serves, sandwich's, coffee, and salads. Ordered Salmon salad, and a chicken Caesar. My chicken was super salty, and the salmon was fishy and precooked. My lemonade was awful had to return it. Over all the restaurant /coffee shop was not our cup of tea. We will not be returning

We were tired, hungry, and not expecting much - I'd read some of the bad reviews, but the menu looked interesting so we went and are SO GLAD we did! Our server, Ryan, was amazing! He seemed to know exactly when we wanted to talk with him and when we wanted to be on our own. He helped us select a delicious wine, and answered questions about the menu. Friendly without being over the top. He asked if it was a special occassion and when I told him we were celebrating 50 years of marriage he congratulated us warmly - and joked that he had a LONG way to go to get there himeself. We decided to have several appetizers: Oysters Rockefeller, quail stuffed with sausage (which I've never had elsewhere), grilled octopus (which is difficult to get tender), and a peach salad (again, not a run of the mill item!). They were each very different, each excellently prepared, and beautifully presented. When we'd finished with this, Ryan suggested desert, We weren't really hungry, but took a look at the desert menu. Nothing really appealed - Jack said jokingly that we were spared because there was nothing super chocolate. Ryan brought Jack's expresso and said that he'd checked with the chef - the decadent chocolate cake on the tasting menu was ours if we wanted it. Of course we did, and it, too, was delicious. We are both a little hard of hearing and often have trouble in restaurants, but not here. They have divided the space up into several smaller rooms with open arch ways. Instead of being packed together, the tables are well separated. The restaurant is filled with mostly local art work - paintings, wood sculpture, and wall hangings. There is a book filled with descriptions of the art and the artists which we perused briefly before dinner. Wish it weren't so far away - we'd be there every week!

We did the full tea for two and really was underwhelmed. The sandwiches were o.k. with the white bread, but could have made the sandwiches better by using a speciality bread. The scones were only sweetened by the fruit that was in them. The jelly was good, but the devonshire cream was tasteless. The desserts were dry, but my vanilla tea was good. Overall it was a meh experiences.Traditional tea sandwiches are made on crustless bread, we use both wheat and white. You can always ask for a specialty bread but there would be a slight upcharge. Most of the heartier breads do not cut easily into tea sandwiches, and there is less sandwich when it is cut because of the shape of the bread. The scones do have sugar in them, golden raisins, and vanilla. English scones are not meant to be sweet because you normally put strawberry jam on them, or our homemade lemon curd is available for the Windsor without an upcharge. We do not have Devonshire clotted cream--the only way you can get that is to import it and the cost is ridiculous, or have a Devonshire cow. We make our cream to be as close as it can be to Devonshire cream, it is supposed to taste more like a butter or a very heavy cream--not overwhelming in taste like cream cheese. If your desserts were dry you should have spoken to your server, because they are not supposed to be and they would have brought out a new batch for you. It doesn't sound like you even spoke to your server by your remarks because it would have been remedied on sight if you had! If you decide to come back to have another try at the Windsor do not let it be a meh experience--if things are not right--speak up at the restaurant, ask for the manageress, or myself so I don't have to answer comments like this. Most of the time people have no idea what an English Tea is supposed to be and they compare it to fantasy items because they "think" that is how a "high tea" should be. Remember, "High Tea" began with Maria Stanhope, one of the ladies in waiting for Queen Victoria, so there are many years that have changed the definition of what "high tea" is all about. In fact, "high tea" has nothing to do with the food served--it refers to the table it is served on, which in that era was higher than a regular dining room table. Come to one of my British tea ettiquette speeches so you understand the history! Thanks for your "MEH" comments, we will take it under advisement since you did not bother to say anything while you were in the Windsor and then ridiculed us in public. The Queen Victoria sponge cake is made daily and is not pound cake, it is meant to be a little on the dry side but full of flavor with the strawberry jam and cream cheese frosting in the middle.Let me know (please reserve) and I will make sure I wait on you myself! This is the restaurant for Simpsons Bed & Breakfast. You get a voucher and you can get anything on their menu. The people are friendly and you can find someone to talk to if you have the desire or just enjoy a quiet breakfast. The food was really delicious and fresh. They don't have fried or scrambled eggs but they have eggs in their sandwiches. The prices were very reasonable. I would definitely go there for breakfast without a voucher!

This is a charming little place in the midst of Mt. Dora. Definitely not a chain or some 'new & trendy' place. As a bit of a breakfast snob, I actually appreciated the little wait we had; meaning, there was good reason. Our breakfast was fresh, hot, more-than-ample and a great value. Service was very friendly and attentive. Too bad we don't live closer, yet the next time in Mt. Dora we will make it a point of revisiting.

Several shopkeepers in town mentioned this as a top-rated dining experience. We walked to it and investigated. The menu and venue looked interesting so we made reservations for later that evening. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and our server for the evening, Tony was at our side with all the relevant information about the menu specials of the day and the locally sourced items and freshly delivered sea food. The menu had a couple of vegetarian options. My wife chose the browned cauliflower steak, ras-el-hanot dusted and grilled over shallot-date coulis with cilantro-mint chermoula. Whatever all that means, it all tasted good. Our guest had the chicken roulade, pan seared chicken breast stuffed with asiago, spinach, sundried tomato, garlic & cream cheese with a Madeira beurre blanc. and said it was very good. I had a cup of Irish Whiskey onion soup, very tasty with lots of nicely caramelized sweet onion. I also had the Caesar salad, with the optional anchovies. My entree was the fish of the day, pompano. I had never had it before so I thought Iâd give it a try. It was pan seared and served with a lemon-basil beurre blanc, pickled blueberries and pea shoots. It was prepared very nicely but I was not impressed with the flavor of the fish itself. The restaurant has been around for 23 years. The décor is amazing as can be seen in the photos. Tony was an excellent server. It was truly a great dining experience.
