Stopped here and it was hard making up my mind . They have a small but excellent menu. I ordered the tenderloin with fries. The fries were crinkle cut and the tenderloin.........oh the tenderloin was one of the freshest, juiciest ones Iâve had . It was not thin and it didnât have a massive amount of breading ....just perfect . I will say, I will be back to try other things on the menu . I posted pics before this review

Family took me here for my birthday. I got the tilapia and shrimp with a mango sauce. I was very good! Daughter got the deep fried ham, turkey and cheese sandwich with raspberry sauce. Son got hamburger and Vegetable soup. Other daughter got a chicken salad. Grandson ( 17 months) had grilled chicken and broccoli with rice. We all went home with to go boxes. You get alot of food. Prices are medium to high.

We went here with another couple and my grand kids. There is a trivia night the day we went which was a lot of fun. Tables with couples or groups competed against one another for a grans prize of $100.00 gift certificate for free appetizers. There is also a 2nd and 3 rd place prize of coupons. We lost but had a fun time playing. We had a hamburger special which included french fries which was very good. Highly recommended.

A warm, inviting atmosphere best defines Cafe Navarre. Clearly one of downtown South Bend's most attractive buildings from the exterior, and the view from inside Cafe Navarre is nothing short of breathtaking. The fusion of Old World style architecture wit
The interior of this long ago Bank Building is beautiful, so well done with seamless remodeling. The greatest treats though were the service and the food. The meals are a bit on the pricier side for South Bend, Indiana HOWEVER they are an exceptional VALUE . I had fresh Norwegian trout (not frozen), mussels in an incredible smoky bacon & corn broth that were a true delight to experience. I had a small piece of my trout, cold , for breakfast just now. (it was just too good to leave behind) OH MY, it was again a true taste delight!! Cesar, our waitperson, in answering my query about the origins of the building , finished with "and now it's the best restaurant in S. Bend". I would add: BEST restaurant in any direction , 90 miles from S. Bend.We love that you enjoyed your dining experience with us at Cafe Navarre. It sounds like your meal was invcredible and we strive for perfection in every dish. We hope to see you again soon. Joel GardManager, Cafe Navarre

LaSalle Grill is located in Downtown South Bend's oldest commercial building. Built in 1868 as the St. Joseph Hotel, the building has survived over 146 years. Converted to restaurant use in 1991, LaSalle Grill has become an institution in South Bend and t
Probably the best that anyone could ask for in South Bend. Everything is done well. The staff is by far the most professional around, and if you are looking to impress someone you won't do any better for a hundred miles in any direction. It's an Epicurean haven, and you won't be disappointed as long as you have the coin. Also, get the grown up milk shake for dessert. Thank me later.

Recommended by another traveler at our hotel. Checked ratings and they were good but almost did not go as had no reservation and wait time was an hour. Checked later and it was shorter, but when we arrived it was 45 minutes. However, hostess said hightops in bar and bar were open seating. A high-top was open so we took it. Server, Gabriel G, immediately approached, welcomed us, gave menus etc. Server very familiar with menu and offered suggestions. Very accommodating about making slight changes to the sides, etc. Checked back frequently.Food was outstanding: Lobster tails, pork special, bang-bang shrimp, wine and cocktails.Facility, food and service were outstanding. If back in the area we will positively go again - only make a reservation next time.Quality food and service. Can't ask for more. Nothing could have made the dinner better.

We arrived at the Crooked Ewe and found the parking lot to be full. We drove to the other side of the building and there was a small parking lot that appeared to be an employee lot with a wood fired smoker out back. We left, thinking we'd find another place to eat, however when we got to the stoplight, we noticed a parking lot for another business with people appearing to walk to the restaurant. Upon entering the parking lot, there were signs indicating this was the Ewe overflow parking. We got in the restaurant and it was not full as the lot would have indicated. We were waited on quickly and had drinks within minutes. We ordered the hushpuppies as an appetizer and I had the gyro and my wife the arepa. The hushpuppies are amazing. Much different flavor than we expected. These aren't your normal hushpuppies. We absolutely loved them though. My gyro came on a homemade pita what was phenomenal. The flavors were just fantastic with the cucumber kimchi and the pickled red onion. My wife loved her arepa equally as well. Our waitress was back for refills in a timely manner and with the check at the end of the meal as well. The atmosphere was wonderful with a beautiful view of the river outside the back of the restaurant. For a couples date night, it was a hit with my wife. We will definitely be going back. If the lot is full, go back to the corner and park there!

We have visited Corndance several times, but only on special occasions as for us it is pricey. Well worth the price though! High quality food, extremely knowledgeable servers, and an atmosphere I love. Our latest visit was for my daughter's 16th birthday. My husband got a fish special, I believe it was grouper, and he said it was some of the best fish he's ever had in our area. The server said that the chef only works with fish that he can get in really fresh, and it shows. Definitely worth a visit!

Stopped into Evil Czech for a few beers as was in town for work. The site is large and expansive, lots of parking, and both an indoor and outdoor seating area. The host/hostess were somewhat ambivalent about people that entered and I needed to find my own seating. The servers seemed indifferent as to suggestions and the beer and ended up picking my own. Ordered a flight of beers and sampled 5. Nothing too spectacular but also nothing really that bad. There were a few people at the bar that were beyond visibly intoxicated and the servers contributed to pour for them, which was troubling as the local area has no sidewalks so you need to drive everywhere. If the options are this or a chain restaurant I would go here again, although reluctantly.
