Find out what American restaurants to try in Meridian. Almost entirely destroyed during the Civil War, Meridian was rebuilt between 1890 and 1930 in a boom known as "The Golden Age." This legacy still stands, leaving the city with not just one, but nine registered historic districts. Attractions include the carefully restored Highland Park Dentzel Carousel, dating back to 1909 and still offering rides for just fifty cents each, and the Hamasa Shrine Temple Theater, featuring a massive 778 pipe organ that is one of only two still in existence.

Went here because of the high ratings. When we arrived, early in the evening, they were already out of the special for the day. Food was okay. Homemade, seasoned well, but not very nutritional. Fried green tomatoes were okay. Chicken soup was good, chicken salad leaved more to be desired.

As always, these people are always courteous and extremely friendly. Itâs always a pleasant experience. The food is delicious just like you would expect. I ordered the broccoli for outside last night, itâs pretty bland, but if you ordered shrimp scampi dipping the broccoli in the sauce is a jackpot. No complaints. Keep up the good work!

Was visiting town for a football game and a friend recommended this place - GREAT recommendation. Itâs a great local non-chain place. The steaks are great, as well as, the salad bar. The service was very good and the prices reasonable. Would definitely go back here when back in town.

Seafood expressSince I moved back to West Alabama, this gas station, seafood express I try to visit at least once a month. Today, I receive a horrendous experience, When I walked in I witnessed a minor confrontation with one of the regular customers, about requesting some extra paper bowls the food is served in and it turned into a screaming match, where the owner was shouting at the customer. The owner demanding 25 additional cent each for extra paper bowl, so the customer gave it to her, however the owner didnât like to way he handed her the money⦠I was so disturbed, that went it came for me to order, I was kind of afraid⦠The incident was so heavy on my mind, so I ask the cashier to speak with the owner, and the cashier gave me the run down, she said âthere is no need to speak to her because she will begin screaming, but I donât think she means any harm, thatâs just the way she isâ, and she also said, âwhen she starts screaming, you will not be able to understand a thing she is saying, because after 17 years here she still canât speak good English.â Now, the food is outstanding!!! My ideology, âbefore you tear someone down, you should offer a hand to lift them upâ. I say again, the food is awesome!!! After I ask to speak to her, my wish was granted, and the owner did exactly what her employee said she would, she said she understood but she still kept screaming and trying to explain to me why. Now that I am being verbally abused by the owner, to make a bad situation worse, the employee that talked about the owner so bad, just in our conversation, turns and start to defend her. I would gest to think the cashier was the part time security guard, she was talking so much trash to me, if I didnât know any better, I would have thought she was going to come across the counter! Now, the customer (me) is being screamed at by the owner and the employee just for reporting my disappointment and opinion. Needless to say, I have a lot of friends that travel to see me and before they leave, they would always stop by that gas station and purchase at least 50 + dollars of food just to take on the plane back home. People if you want to be talked to any kind of way, seafood express is the place to go. Very rude and very unprofessional⦠I wish the community had enough discipline, to stop patronizing until the management understands how important the customer is to its business. There is another seafood place in town, that is just as good, if not better, and it's a real restaurant, I will go there from now on.

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and they appeared to be very understaffed. The hostess was indifferent, and it was obvious she had zero interest in being there. Dumped us at a table with one menu and one set of silverware for two people. We set there for about five minutes before a waiter from another area appeared curious enough to check on us. He went and found our waitress, apparently the hostess didnât let her know she had seated us at her table. The food was the typical good Outback quality and the service improved after the first bad impression. Hopefully this was just some staff having a bad day.

Always have hopes it will be better the next time, but just isn't. Our food was cold when it got to the table. Not acceptable.

The food has gotten better. There have been a number of times where we were sadly disappointed, but it seems that they have turned it around. There are better Bar-B-Que places, but Squealer's is worth a try. The deserts, however, are always spot on. The jar deserts and the pecan pie are great. Go for the food, but get the desert.

We found this place on the internet and were looking forward to good bar food and a beer. We entered the bar and found all the tables dirty with only one table with customers. The floors were sticky and the staff ignored us.We looked around and left.

The atmosphere,, service and food were all wonderful. My husband had the blackened redfish. I had the Catfish Belvedere. Both dinners were delicious. The service was attentive without being instrusive. We enjoyed our time there.

Harvest Grill is a place to gather with friends and family. Weâre a relaxed, casual restaurant with an inventive menu. Our Cross-Country Cuisine draws inspiration from our travels across America and prominently features fresh, seasonal produce from right
Yes I use trip advisor for great places to eat, especially while traveling. We ordered out since we had our dog with us. Wow! Perfectly done. I forgot to take a picture. We had the Salmon Crudo for starters the crostini stole the show. The stuffed portabello was amazing. My hubs had the ribeye. He took that first bite and just smiled and then said wow wow WOW! The peanut dusted brussel sprouts were the best I have ever had.
