Harvey's BBQ officially began in 1986 when Harvey Schademan and his wife Stephanie got their start selling 50 half-chickens in two hours at a roadside stand. After that initial success, Harvey began researching recipes to create his signature BBQ sauce -
My husband and I were in the mood for BBQ as we were passing through Mount Joy and found this place. We were quite happy with our decision to stop in. The portions were just the right size and the service was attentive. My husband got the brisket while I got the pulled pork. Both were wonderful. And the macaroni and cheese I got was so tasty! Loved the corn bread also. Next time we are in the area we will make sure to stop in again.

We visited Hinkleâs while passing through the area on vacation, and reading about the innovative restaurant on-line. The former pharmacy is architecturally interesting, but the food and service earn a definite âskip itâ rating. We entered to a half-full restaurant, and as directed, we sat ourselves. We satâ¦and waitedâ¦and waitedâ¦and waitedâ¦as we watched an army of needlessly-harried waitstaff ran back and forth. We finally asked a server at the ice cream counter if there was a waitress working our section and she said yes, and took our drink orders. She then brought our drinks and again, we waitedâ¦waitedâ¦waited for someone to take our lunch order, and ultimately had to ask again. The waitress we asked then told us she was tired of having to bus her own tables, and came back several minutes later to take our order. We ordered sandwiches, onion rings, and French fries. I asked for deli or spicy mustard on my ham and cheese sandwich, and received a sandwich with grocery store pressed ham, cheap cheese, and slathered with regular mustard â not what I ordered! The French fries were cold and soggy, and the onion rings were also soggy, cold, and had an odd taste.Of course, when our meal was long finished, we had to stop the waitress to ask for our check. Service training is very much needed here.Epic failure! There is no reason to dine at this former pharmacy, other than to catch a glimpse of the interesting architecture. Skip it.
The place is charming and the food absolutely delicious and very reasonable priced. A half sandwich is plenty.

Completely restored railroad hotel built in 1903. Operating as a full-service Inn & Restaurant, Bully's has been described by many as one of the best-kept secrets in Lancaster & York. The Inn has 11 well appointed rooms all with private baths, iron beds,
Think of an old fashioned boarding house with an attached Bar and Grill. That is Bully's. Good food ,good service and very reasonable prices. Don't overlook the historical bio on back of menu.Thank you for the kind words. Cheers

Enjoy casual dining in a restored silk mill along the Susquehanna River. Our four seasons Dining Room, a timbered structure that extends from our building and is enclosed on three sides with glass, has a breathtaking view of the River at one of its widest
Definitely the place to stop if you are near Columbia, Wrightsville or York. Went for lunch and our food was very good (catfish tacos and roasted fennel, strawberry salad with salmon). Delightful to sit outside with a view of the river. Everyone was friendly and the service was prompt. Great place to stop!

Wow! What a big surprise to enjoy half off appetizers and get a free growler and flights from local flavor. Otherwise we may never have stopped here. Enjoyed the beers and the cocktails. All the appetizers were delicious and generous portions. Our server, Justina was super friendly and helpful! Their doing it right down by the river and we will back to try other nightly specials!

My friend and I went for lunch here. I had been to the tavern for dinner a while ago, but am happy to report both times meant very good food. For lunch we had Chicken Caesar Wraps, which had the surprise addition of bacon. The combination of flavors was very pleasing, and I'm not a huge fan of bacon. I asked for mine to be light on the dressing, and that request was honored. They were not busy, and I felt the food service could have been a little faster, but this was not a big problem.Shanks will be celebrating their 205 Anniversary in 2019! Simple fare in an old world atmosphere. We hope you can stop by again soon!

We were driving back from Lancaster and decided to do a little sightseeing around town on a Monday at noon. We saw the Nick's Bistro sign and stopped in for a soup. What a wonderful surprise! We both decided on the black bean soup and Jambalaya. Simply amazing food. Loved it so much that we took home two pints of soup for the next day. It was still so yummy. Well worth another hour to drive back for such wonderful cuisine. The service was fantastic as well. We both highly recommend Nick's Bistro - you will not be disappointed. Place very clean.

We enjoyed our meals at McCleary's. Our server was prompt and friendly. All our food items were uniformly good, but not great. We arrived at 5:30pm so we'd be seated immediately. By the time we left, all dining rooms and the bar were packed.

This restaurant was recommended by our innkeepers and in fact, is her favorite place to eat. It is a bit pricey, but it has a very nice atmosphere and the food is wonderful. The hosts were very attentive and were able to make suggestions about the menu.
