Los Alamitos ("The Little Cottonwoods" in Spanish) is a small city in Orange County, California. The city was incorporated in March 1960. The population was 11,449 at the 2010 census, down from 11,536 at the 2000 census. It is often mistakenly thought to include the adjacent but unincorporated community of Rossmoor (population just under 11,000), which uses Los Alamitos as its mailing address. The Los Alamitos Race Course is also widely believed to be in the city; although it does have a Los Alamitos postal address and zip code, it actually lies in the neighboring city of Cypress.

This place is worth the wait! Parking: parking is limited but there is street parking available too. Don't give up! Enter: next to the hostess is a Thrifty Ice Cream counter! Delicious flavors to choose from including cookies and cream, and cherry! The food: There is sooo much to choose from! I strongly suggest asking for a menu to review while you're waiting! The portion sizes are generous. The bottomless garlic fries are delicious! The pickles here are great! I like to ask for extra. Paper straws for drinking. The staff: everyone is very kind and welcoming. There is a bar with big screen TVs that can be seen throughout the dining room. Outside there are large warming lamps to keep everyone nice and toasty! It can be a little loud. I would NOT suggest this for anyone in the family who is hard of hearing. Family and kid friendly 100%!

I had lunch with my Grandsons at Maderas. I was disappointed with the Tri Tip Dip. Not a lot of flavor. My middle grandson thought the Tri Tip was all right. My older grandson had a hamburger. He thought it was pretty good. My youngest grandson had the Angel Hair Pomodoro with chicken. He loved the chicken, but did not like the pasta. Good service. No problem with the parking at lunchtime during the week.

This is a causal neighborhood restaurant with a covered patio facing Los Al Blvd. It offers a large selection of craft beers. We loved our Portland aged sour blond ale (#29 Cascade Brewing Belmont Street Bramble). Our dining companions enjoyed their Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio. The food was very good (with friendly service). The Sancho burger topped our dinner selection. It was really juicy and flavorful with roasted jalapeños and ancho chili mayo. The cherry wood bacon burger with Memphis style bbq sauce likewise was delicious. Both pasta dishes (salmon belly bow tie pasta in vodka sauce and the Alehouse pasta in short rib ragu served with a grilled Bratwurst) were also well prepared. We had an enjoyable dinner and will surely return.

So the first day I ordered the banana macadamia nut pancakes meal to go, just great so much flavor and the banana slices really made it. The second day I stopped in and sat down, this time I got the blueberry pancake meal, once again just awesome. These pancakes are what I expect, light, fluffy and a good size, 2 are enough. Highly recommend.

Paul's Place offers upscale fast food, top quality ingredients, diner feel, and friendly staff.
We have been coming to Paulâs for a while now. In fact we have also tried out the two Paulâs extensions ( on Knott) that originated from here. The food is always good and plentiful. On the most recent visit we ordered the burger with onion rings and the Chicken Caesar wrap with the irresistible fries. Portions are generous and food tasty as usual.

Food like Mom would have fixed. I had the chicken pot pie, mmmm. One of our party had chicken and dumplings and another the brisket and both were excellent. Two children's meals of chicken strips and fries came with pure white meat chicken fried crispy work a mound of French fries. Took home a piece of pie that was good. I wish we had had room to try other desserts.

Lucia was our server today and she was FABULOUS! I've been to this restaurant numerous times because it is in my local area and I LOVE it! It has a wonderful patio with a great ambiance, the food is delicious and their wine/bubbly by the glass is great too. Even though I've been here many times, I've never had such a nice, attentive and sweet server. Lucia was an extra special treat today.

Nice large restaurant, very comfortable, and includes counter service. Food is NEW YORK JEWISH DELI style, so smoked pastrami, corned beef, tongue, salami, smoked fish, potato pancakes, matzo ball soup, Knish, borscht, and way so much more.Service is usually very good and was this time as well. My wife and I were there with my daughter, son in law and our grandson.Pickles came out first and were replenished on request.I had pastrami and corned beef on rye, called Randy's Choice. My wife had Chicken Salad on a Kaiser roll. Daughter and son in law each had pastrami. The place is less consistent then I would like, sometimes the meat is too fat or too stringy; sometimes the bread slices are too small. This time the bread was the right size and the meats were lean and melted in your mouth. The pickles, a free appetizer, were full dills. My 20 month old grand son ate most of the first plate of them so we asked for more.Food comes out quickly. The server stays nearby so we never waited for service. There is always a wait to be seated, but at the end of the meal you can go back through the restaurant and into their fresh bakery which is extensive and luscious appearing. We always get some cookies for my wife or kids. I usually buy a rye bread to extend the experience. I love this place and there is nothing better or even as good in Orange County or even south Los Angeles county.
