Reviews on American food in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, United States. Lehighton (/li'hɑitən/) is a borough in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, United States, 77 miles (124 km) north of Philadelphia, and 54 miles (87 km) south of Scranton. In the past, it developed early industries because of water power from the Lehigh River. With the location of a repair facility here and its regional operations, the Lehigh Valley Railroad became for years a major employer of thousands of people from the area. Post-World War II railroad and industry restructuring led to job and population losses.

We stayed at the Inn at Jim Thorpe, and this restaurant is attached right off the entrance into the lobby. We had dinner here on our first night in town and two breakfasts on the subsequent days, using vouchers from the Inn to support part of the check. Our dinners were fine but ânothing to write home aboutâ. The Harissa chicken over rice was slightly spicy and quite filling. Cedar salmon looked good, and the short rib pappardelle received good reviews. Although it seems to be part of the hotel, there is no room charge availability.

First visit, we stopped on a Sat afternoon with our kids and grandchildren, 11 in all.It was late for lunch so I was surprised how busy they were. We ordered a couple pizzas, got the 3 cheesesteak special, and a sausage sandwich everything was good and was ready within 15 minutes. Small restaurant, about a dozen tables. On street parking.

When we converted our former restaurant, Platz's Inn, to P.J. Whelihan's Lehighton, we kept the historic charm, upgraded the technology and added an awesome outdoor deck. The result is a great mix of neighborhood pub charm, with an expanded menu featuring
My wife and I were in the area a hungry for Platz's hot wings and shrimp. She's like the hot n honey I like the hot. We split the 20 piece order. Our waitress was Brianna. Only disappointment was the celery with our blue cheese was something that should not have been served, so we mentioned it and got it replaced w edible celery. I like the copper lauger house brew which is reasonable in prize at $4 for 22oz. Nice place, good food. Reasonably priced.Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback. We value our customers and like to hear what they have to say. Glad you enjoyed your visit and food and that celery issue was resolved...... Hope to see you on your next visit!

Visited for dinner during the Fall Foliage Festival. We had a long wait, but that was probably due to the festival crowds. They will take your number and text you when it's your turn, so it means you can still explore town while you wait. The place is smaller than expected. When it was our turn we were seated outside and had to share a table with another group. The table wasn't overly crowded, but it would have been nice to sit by ourselves. The food and drinks were good, especially the mulled wine. Service was friendly and accommodating. Gluten-free options were limited, but I was able to find something to eat that I really enjoyed. Definitely recommend.

A full service Italian/Continental Steak House in an 1860's Civil War Mansion. Servicing lunch/dinner with a full bar, original Absinthe & a late night Speakeasy.
I had the best Gyro made with Chicken Tikka and a mildly spicy sauce that was perfect! And it was served downstairs so donât be shy about asking for the upstairs menu.

Whenever we visit Jim Thorpe, Stone Row Pub is one of the highlights. I eat a vegan diet but my wife does not so there's something for both of us. They have a great variety of offerings, nice beer and wine list, and superior service. The quaint 'old' rooms adds to the ambiance - we've eaten there now 3 times and I think were seated in 3 different rooms - all charming. We'll be back again and again!

Wonderful, diverse menu and friendly, helpful staff. Where else can you get a delicious ostrich steak???? Spouse loved it. I had one of the night's specials for October - sauerbraten with red cabbage and spaetzel. Great taste, although the sauerbraten wasn't as tender as most we've had. Still enjoyed it, though. Great beer selection.

We have traveled far and wide, eaten at many spectacular restaurants, but Moya has to rank among the best--and that's a high bar to meet. It's simple, unassuming, friendly and delicious. We started the meal with drinks--a great IPA and a wonderfully refreshing pear vodka combination. Then, we ordered several small plates, starting with a simple but fresh and mouth-watering corn feta salad, followed by even better boneless beef short ribs, braised pork and a mushroom/potato medley to die for. We were full but also too contented to leave so we ordered the signature house dessert: tres leche cake. Amazing. Service was attentive and atmosphere was cozy. For Moyo alone, we will definitely return to Jim Thorpe.

We are located on 443 in lehighton next to Fedor's car wash.
Had pulled pork and brisket sandwich. As the title says, lots of meat on both. While tasty and tender, the meat lacked a smokiness I like. The cole slaw is really nice. Good value. Be warned - the sandwiches are wet and sloppy, but good eating.
