We thought this place was closed but found out differently. Looked like it had good breakfasts so have been going there about once a week.Food is pretty good, coffee is good, service is pretty fast and everyone is friendly. About the 2nd or 3rd time in they advised they had a new menu along with new prices. That's one of the reasons for only 3 stars.A basic breakfast of 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, hashbrowns and toast is now $7.99! In Lamesa? We eat breakfast all over the country and that certainly isn't the highest price we've encountered, but it is high for this area; one of their local competitors sells the same breakfast for $6.75. The plus side on the new pricing is the biscuits and gravy went down....and I love biscuits and gravy. They have a different way of serving it; in a rounded platter/bowl, biscuits in the bottom and covered with gravy. It's good. I will note that every time I've eaten the biscuits and gravy I get indigestion of some kind. It's not spice; my wife thinks maybe they're soda biscuits and that is the problem - just be aware. Gravy is sometimes iffy as well. It may be who's cooking but I've gotten gravy that was very gritty - like undissolved flour in water - so be aware of that also.Other than that we like going there because they are so friendly.
Lamesa Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Lamesa
This is truly a dump, dirty place, and poor food. You order at the cash register from the person who takes your order, handles the money answers the phone, wipes the tables and then handles the food. My BBQ sandwich was without taste and the potato salad was flat. Will not go back.

Good salad bar with great service, atmosphere is ok but could probably use some upgrade in decor. Good basic steakhouse menu.
We heard excellent reviews about the Back Porch Grill from friends and since we haven't gone we decided to take my stepson to eat his birthday dinner there. The atmosphere is definitely bar-like. There are booths inside and picnic tables outside. The bar inside takes up quite a bit of space. Our server was friendly but not knowledgeable about the food. She described the queso as "cheese with chopped tomatoes." She also didn't mention how everything costs extra; I'll get to that in a moment.Ultimately we decided on the salsa and chips for our appetizer due to our server's description of the queso. The salsa was awesome! Even my 5-year-old loved it. Also, complimentary queso was brought out and it tasted great! We looked over our menu and found it slightly unsatisfying. Burgers, hot dogs, chili fries, sandwiches, and basically fast food was the only type of food on the menu. On top of that.....burgers did not come with sides. Everything was extra! I could have gone to McDonald's, ordered off the premium menu, and at least had a side and drink included for the same price. Well, we decided to stick it out. My 5-year-old ordered a corn dog and curly fries. My stepson ordered a bacon-cheeseburger and fries. My husband ordered a bacon-cheeseburger and onion rings. I ordered a bacon-cheeseburger and fried okra. All was very tasty. The bill wasn't though! $50 for a fast food meal is outrageous! They charged extra for buns, extra for bacon and cheese that we ordered as part of our meal??The floor manager's excuse was his restaurant has been open 1 month and he hasn't quite worked on the price point. My review has to end like this....fool me once-on me, fool me twice-nope I don't think so.
