We didn't end up eating here. We were looking for a casual meal after a long day of driving, and had seen (apparently) that this place had good pizzas/flatbreads. We got to the place, and it was mostly empty (just one party of 8 sitting). We were seated by the hostess/waitress and it seemed like she was the only one there (no bartender). We noticed the menu did not have pizza on it, and were puzzled by the large brick oven which dominates the room. When we inquired about pizza, she said "we're not serving pizza tonight". Okay. What nights DO you serve pizza. "Oh, only when we have a guy to work the oven." Okay. What nights are those. "Not sure". Bizarre.The place was clean, but empty. We went to the other casual place (Mica's) and it was PACKED. 1+ hour wait to get in. Apparently, the market has left Sapphire Mountain Brewing and gone elsewhere. Lost opportunity and the area needs another casual eatery like this.

Canyon Kitchen is a special place for dinner. Go early and enjoy the huge rock walls above the valley. You choose from a fixed menu of four courses for $68.00 plus 20 percent tip. And itâs worth every penny. If you canât get a reservation just show up and theyâll probably seat you. Itâs a bucket list experience you wonât forget.Stevie3969,Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. It can be difficult to get a reservation, especially on summer weekends, but you are right that we try to fit people in that are here. To see this house, you wouldn't guess it was a restaurant except for the sign. But, indoors it is composed of different rooms, all very nice. We were seated at the back right near a window. The service and food were excellent. The atmosphere was upscale casual. It's kind of expensive but I was expecting that based on a reading of the menu online. We were looking for a special place and it turned out to be that. I would surely return.Reservations are recommended.

There were 3 couples and we all enjoyed the experience. The waitstaff was attentive and professional. While very expensive the drinks were excellent.We were in a smaller room that overcame the noise of our first visit. The main room is very noisy.The fish special was a little overcooked but very tasty. The lobster lollipops were very good, but once again a little overcooked. We had the pop corn, bruchetta and a soup that were all very good.We had many entrees that we enjoyed, but especillay the chicken and the special fish.

Had dinner here with my family over the Labor Day holiday. This was an awesome meal -- one of the best I have had since moving to the South in 1992. A unique take on tapas. Servings are larger than the traditional Spanish tapas, so great for sharing. Amazing variety of elegantly prepared and exceptionally tasty cuisine. The entire family thought this was one of our best dinners ever. This is a must if you are in the Cashiers-Highlands area. Restaurant is small and deservedly very popular so be sure to reserve. Sangria is excellent but there is a full wine list also.

If you are looking for the Brown Trout Restaurant, you will not find it. This is the same restaurant but at a new location with a new name. In speaking with the owner, it is the same menu and the same core staff. They specialize in rainbow trout, prepared in a variety of ways. We had trout for dinner three different ways and returned the next day for lunch and had a tasty burger etc. Very good but slow. The service is very friendly. Not your place if you are in a hurry.

Falls Cafe is a great little place to kick back and relax. Their covered outside deck offers nice views of Toxaway Falls - a great setting that's hard to beat. We both enjoyed excellent burgers, served with a platter full of fries. They also offer live music on weekend evenings. Our only regret was that we didn't discover Falls Cafe until very late in our visit to the area. Otherwise, it would have been a frequent stop. We highly recommend it as a welcome break from the expensive, pretentious restaurants in the surrounding area.

The Greystone Inn offers breakfast and dinner in the Lakeside Dining Room, along with casual afternoon and evening food choices in the Mansion Bar. We visited all of them over the course of a week's stay, with each offering a distinctly different experience.Dinners in the dining room were exceptional and highly recommended. The printed menu is limited in size but supplemented by several nightly specials. Most tables offer beautiful views of the lake and mountains, and the food and attention from the staff rivaled the best restaurants we found in the area.The breakfast buffet, on the other hand, was disappointing, with pricing reflective of a captive audience. Despite serving until 11:00 am, selections were frequently depleted by 9:30. The harried wait staff was seriously undermanned, attempting to serve guests while struggling to keep the buffets replenished. On several occasions, we had to request silverware, bowls, plates, etc. My wife thought the grits on the full buffet were exceptional, but other selections, particularly on the continental buffet were lacking.The all-day casual dining in the Mansion Bar was just strange. The menu is very small, with an odd selection of appetizers that defy logic, a few salads, pizzas, and three sandwiches, all of which seemed to be strange choices for such a limited menu. The bar is a comfortable, friendly place, and we would have enjoyed it more often had the menu been perhaps a little larger, or at least with a daily special or two, along with a few more diner-friendly sandwich choices.When we travel, we typically enjoy exploring local restaurants away from where we are staying. On this trip, however, considering the limited number of restaurants within easy driving distance, along with the weather that followed us on the trip, we would have been delighted to dine more frequently at Greystone. Unfortunately, the on-site options made that difficult to do.

The Blind Mule is a first class restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It features a wide variety of creative dishes with fresh farm to table quality. It offers a lovely wine list to make each meal a joy. The owners are very friendly and are directly involved with creating a superb dining experience. Located directly adjacent to beautiful Lake Toxaway it is a reason in itself to visit the area.
